Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Work HVO FR Holster Trousers represent a significant advancement in protective workwear, designed specifically for individuals operating in multi-risk environments. These trousers do more than simply meet safety standards; they integrate high-visibility requirements with inherent flame resistance and anti-static properties. The orange and black design ensures you remain conspicuous, while the intelligent use of stretch fabrics provides the mobility required for demanding physical tasks. Every element of this garment has been considered to provide a balance of safety, utility, and comfort for the modern professional.

Key Features
  • Two-Way Stretch Fabric: This provides a superior range of movement, ensuring the trousers move with you rather than against you when bending or climbing.
  • Zip-Removable Holster Pockets: These multi-functional pockets allow for the secure storage of tools and can be removed when not required, offering versatility for different job requirements.
  • Top-Loading Kneepad Pockets: Designed for ease of use, these allow for the quick insertion of protective padding to safeguard your joints during floor-level work.
  • FR Reinforcement Panels: Strategic reinforcement at key abrasion points ensures the trousers can withstand the rigours of a hard day's work without compromising safety.
  • Easy Access Thigh Pockets: Positioned for convenience, these provide secure storage for essential items like mobile phones and keys.

Design & Performance

The technical sophistication of these trousers lies in the Modaflame Work HVO fabric, a complex blend of 61% Modacrylic, 18% Viscose, 15% Polyester, 5% Aramid, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This combination creates a substantial, heavy-duty fabric that is inherently flame resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibres and will not diminish with washing. The inclusion of aramid and carbon fibre provides the necessary anti-static protection required in hazardous zones.

Performance is further enhanced by the contrast stretch panels, which utilise a blend of cotton and elastane. This creates a garment that is not only tough and protective but also breathable and flexible. The moisture management properties of the Modaflame blend ensure that you remain comfortable even during periods of intense activity, while the anti-static properties are essential for those working near sensitive electronic equipment or in explosive atmospheres.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To ensure your team presents a professional appearance, these trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery. Given the technical nature of the flame-resistant fabric, our expert team in Telford uses specialised techniques to ensure that any customisation does not compromise the garment's safety certifications.

Embroidery is highly recommended for company logos or staff names, providing a durable and distinguished finish that withstands industrial use. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing process offers a bold and clear result. Having been established since 1976, we have the expertise to ensure your branding is applied with precision and care.

Use Cases

These trousers are an essential piece of equipment for professionals working in the rail industry, as they meet the RIS 3279 railway standard. They are equally suited for those in the petrochemical, utility, and electrical sectors where protection against heat, flame, and static is a non-negotiable requirement. Their robust construction also makes them a sensible choice for general construction work where high-visibility and durability are paramount.

Practical Advice

For the best fit, we recommend measuring your waist and inside leg accurately before ordering, as the structured nature of flame-resistant fabrics offers less 'give' than standard leisurewear. When layering, ensure that your base layers also possess flame-resistant properties to maintain a complete system of protection. The holster pockets are excellent for immediate access to tools, but remember to remove them before laundering to prevent damage to the zip mechanisms.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the protective integrity of your trousers is essential for your safety. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature can damage the synthetic fibres and potentially affect the garment's fit.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleach is a harsh chemical that can destroy the flame-resistant properties of the fabric and degrade the anti-static carbon fibres, leaving you unprotected in hazardous environments.

When drying, use a low heat setting in the tumble dryer. High heat can cause the elastic components in the stretch panels to become brittle, which will eventually lead to a loss of shape and flexibility. If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 110°C to avoid melting the modacrylic components. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process can interfere with the technical finish of the fabric.
