About our Laundered Workwear Partner

Our laundry partner has been offering a PPE and workwear laundry service since 2016. In 2022 they won the laundry tender for the athletes’ and teams’ laundry for the Commonwealth Games, processing 39 tonnes over a 19-day period and during this they did not lose a single garment.

Our partner has always had a zero-to-landfill policy. As well as laundry, they recycle 95% of all NFP waste generated from their customers’ laundry and feed it into the circular economy for re-purposing. Their current exciting collaboration is with Stuff4Life who deconstruct polyester clothing and reduce it to polymers which are used in the manufacture of more polyester yarn, so complete circularity. Viable but unwanted PPE goes to various charities and all donations are documented for our customers’ CSR programmes.

The Cleaning Process

Our partner uses JLA’s OTEX technology in their cleaning process which uses ozone to kill 99.99% of bacteria, pathogens and viruses instantaneously. This can be achieved using cold water, reducing energy consumption by 49% compared with thermal disinfection processes, but they tend to wash at 30 degrees to aid the emulsification of oils. The agitating bubbles of this free radical gas also open the fibres up to dislodge contaminants more readily. They use specially formulated mild detergents to protect and lengthen the life of the fabrics and their protective qualities. Data sheets are available on request.

Audit Trail

Our partner will return a batch analysis with every shipment returned showing how many items we have collected, repaired, processed and returned by type and size to enable you to offset your carbon emissions, or Scope 4 avoided emissions as they’re now known. They sew barcode labels in, rather than heat seal them, so they don’t come off in the wash and get lost. Laundry prices include repairs, and the repaired garments are always returned within the same weekly cycle.

We do not ask for a contract, and only charge for what is laundered, not projected volumes. There is no minimum charge. Cost is per kilo and we can quote for workwear or glove laundry.
