Product Overview

The Modaflame Work HVO Multi-Norm Contrast Trousers represent a sophisticated approach to personal protective equipment, engineered specifically for professionals operating in high-risk, multi-hazard environments. These trousers are designed to be worn in conjunction with the MV35 jacket, forming a comprehensive protective barrier. By utilising advanced textile technology, this garment provides a singular solution for those requiring protection against flame, chemical splashes, electric arcs, and welding hazards, all while ensuring the wearer remains highly visible.

Key Features
  • Inherent Flame Resistance: Unlike treated fabrics, the flame-resistant properties are built into the fibre itself, meaning the protection will not wash out or diminish over the lifespan of the trousers.
  • Multi-Hazard Certification: These trousers offer documented protection against chemical splashes, electric arcs, and welding risks, reducing the need for multiple specialized garments.
  • High Visibility Compliance: Certified to EN ISO 20471 and RIS 3279 standards, the bright orange and navy contrast ensures you remain visible in low-light conditions and on-site environments, including rail sectors.
  • Anti-Static Properties: Integrated carbon fibres prevent the build-up of static charges, an essential safety feature for environments where spark prevention is critical.

Design & Performance

Constructed from Modaflame Work HVO fabric, these trousers utilise a technical blend of 61% Modacrylic, 18% Viscose, 15% Polyester, 5% Aramid, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This specific composition is chosen for its superior moisture management, allowing the fabric to breathe while maintaining a comfortable handle against the skin. Despite their substantial, sturdy construction, the fabric is designed to move with the wearer, reducing fatigue during long shifts.

The durability of the garment is reinforced by the inclusion of Aramid, which adds significant tensile strength, ensuring the trousers can withstand the rigours of industrial work without compromising the integrity of the protective barrier. The addition of carbon fibre provides the necessary anti-static performance required for modern technical workwear.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To ensure your team presents a cohesive and professional appearance, these trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery. For a formal and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and individual names. This method provides a textured, high-quality look that withstands industrial laundering.

For larger, more impactful branding or safety messaging, print customisation offers a bold and clear alternative. Our in-house team at MyWorkwear has been refining these techniques in Telford since 1976, ensuring that your customisation is applied with the same technical precision as the garment's construction.

Use Cases

These trousers are primarily designed for specialists in the petrochemical, utility, and rail industries where multi-norm protection is a regulatory requirement. They are equally suited for professional welders and electricians who require a garment that protects against heat and arc flash while providing high visibility in industrial settings.

Why MyWorkwear

Established in 1976, MyWorkwear has decades of experience in providing technical garments that meet stringent safety standards. Based in Telford, our expert team understands that workwear is not just a uniform; it is a critical piece of safety equipment. We combine our heritage in garment customisation with a deep understanding of modern fabric technology to support British industry.

Practical Advice

For maximum protection, these trousers should always be worn as part of a full suit with the matching MV35 jacket. When selecting your size, consider the need for ease of movement; a fit that is too restrictive can impede your ability to work safely, while a fit that is too loose may catch on machinery or equipment.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance safety characteristics and high-visibility properties of these trousers, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so can compromise the technical integrity of the Modaflame fibres.

We recommend a normal domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the synthetic fibres and may cause the garment to shrink, affecting the fit and the coverage of the protective material.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will chemically degrade the flame-resistant fibres and significantly dull the high-visibility orange pigment, rendering the garment unsafe for use in hazardous environments.

When drying, use a low tumble dry setting. High heat in the dryer can cause permanent damage to the carbon fibres and aramid components. Similarly, if ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 110°C to avoid melting the technical blend. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process can strip away the fabric's protective qualities.
