Product Overview
The Yoko Hi-vis waterproof overtrousers are an essential piece of equipment for those who refuse to let the British weather dictate their working schedule. Designed to be easily pulled over standard work trousers, these overtrousers provide a robust barrier against foul weather while ensuring maximum visibility on site. The hi-vis yellow variant is fully certified to EN ISO20471 Class 1 and EN343 standards, making it a reliable choice for professional environments where safety compliance is non-negotiable. For tasks where full high-visibility certification is not mandatory, the black and navy options offer enhanced visibility with a more understated appearance.
Key Features
Safety compliance: The yellow colourway conforms to EN ISO20471 Class 1 and EN343, providing verified protection against wet weather and ensuring you remain seen in hazardous conditions.
Weatherproof integrity: Constructed to be both windproof and waterproof, these trousers protect the wearer from the elements, helping to maintain comfort during prolonged outdoor work.
Reflective detailing: Equipped with two 5cm wide reflective bands around the lower legs to enhance the wearer's silhouette in low-light environments.
Adjustable fit: Snap buttons at the bottom hem allow for quick adjustment over work boots, helping to seal out the rain and prevent the fabric from catching.
Ease of use: An elasticated waistband allows for rapid application over existing clothing, ensuring you can react quickly when the weather turns.
Design & Performance
Performance is at the heart of the YK070 overtrousers. They are crafted from a durable polyester fabric featuring an Oxford PU coating. This specific weave is chosen for its superior resistance to abrasions and tears, ensuring the garment survives the friction and snags typical of manual labour. While the fabric is substantial enough to block wind and rain effectively, it remains a lightweight layer that does not impede movement or add unnecessary bulk. The PU coating acts as a technical barrier, encouraging water to bead and roll off the surface rather than soaking into the fibres, which keeps the garment light and manageable even in a downpour.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
As with all professional workwear, branding is key to a cohesive company image. These overtrousers are well-suited for both print and embroidery. Embroidery provides an authoritative, long-lasting finish for company logos, typically applied to the hip or thigh area where it remains visible. For larger identification requirements, such as contract names or job roles, our high-quality printing process ensures bold, clear results that stand out. Based in Telford, our expert in-house team has been handling customisation since 1976, ensuring that every logo is applied with the technical precision your business deserves.
Use Cases
These overtrousers are ideal for a wide variety of outdoor professionals, including construction workers, roadside assistance technicians, and logistics staff. They are also a practical choice for facility managers and security personnel who require a dependable waterproof layer that can be stored compactly and deployed at a moment's notice. The broad size range, from Small to 3XL, ensures they are suitable for a diverse workforce.

Practical Advice
These overtrousers are designed with a generous fit to accommodate your existing work trousers. When choosing your size, we recommend sticking to your standard measurements, as the elasticated waist and wide-leg design are specifically cut for layering. For a complete weather-protective uniform, these trousers are designed to be paired with Yoko's matching jackets, such as the HVP211, HVP218, or the HVP300 series.
Caring for your product
To ensure the continued performance of the waterproof coating and the vibrancy of the hi-vis fabric, it is vital to follow the correct care procedure. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a synthetic cycle. This temperature is sufficient to remove dirt without damaging the PU coating. Avoid using biological powders, as the enzymes can eventually break down the waterproof barrier.
Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the fluorescent pigments and the reflective properties of the tape, making the garment unsafe for site use. This item should not be ironed; the heat from an iron will melt the technical coating and the reflective bands, causing permanent damage to the garment.
Tumble drying, wringing, and dry cleaning must be avoided to maintain the garment's shape and integrity. Instead, allow the trousers to air dry naturally. Finally, please note that the garment is rated for a maximum of 25 wash cycles. Beyond this point, the visibility levels may drop below the required safety standards, and the garment should be replaced to ensure continued protection.
