Product Overview
The Classic Iona Rain Trousers are a well-engineered solution for the professional who refuses to let the British weather dictate their schedule. Part of the Enhanced Visibility range, these trousers provide more than just a barrier against the rain; they ensure the wearer remains conspicuous in dull or overcast conditions. Finished in a professional Navy, they offer a sober and authoritative appearance while performing the critical task of keeping you dry and visible on the job.
Key Features
- The elasticated waist provides a versatile and comfortable fit, allowing the trousers to be easily pulled on over existing clothing as the weather turns.
- Side access pockets are strategically placed to allow the wearer to reach their internal trouser pockets, ensuring that tools or personal items remain accessible without compromising weather protection.
- The stud adjustable hem allows for a secure fit around the ankles, which is essential for preventing water ingress and ensuring the fabric does not catch on footwear or equipment.
- Integrated visibility details are designed to catch the light in low-visibility environments, providing an additional layer of safety for those working near traffic or on busy sites.
Design & Performance
Technical performance is at the heart of this garment. It is constructed from a 100% Polyester, 190T weave with a robust PVC coating. This specific fabric choice ensures the trousers remain lightweight and flexible, avoiding the restrictive, heavy feel often associated with traditional waterproofs. The PVC coating acts as an impermeable shield against driving rain, while the 190T polyester provides the structural integrity required to withstand the daily demands of a working environment.
Despite their lightweight nature, these trousers are remarkably durable. The material is engineered to resist the scuffs and abrasions common in industrial settings, ensuring that the garment remains a staple of your workwear wardrobe for seasons to come. The Navy colour is particularly adept at concealing the inevitable dirt and grime of a site, maintaining a professional look throughout the day.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that a uniform is only complete when it carries your company identity. These trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery. For those seeking a premium, long-lasting finish, embroidery is ideal for company logos or staff names, providing a tactile and high-quality appearance that stands up to the elements.
Should you require larger branding or safety messaging that needs to be seen from a distance, our in-house printing services provide a bold and sharp alternative. Our team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that your branding is applied with precision and care, without compromising the waterproof performance of the garment.
Use Cases
These trousers are an essential component for any professional working outdoors. They are particularly well-suited for logistics personnel, maintenance crews, and site workers who require a quick-response waterproof layer. Given their enhanced visibility features, they are an excellent choice for those working in environments where being seen is a safety priority, but full high-visibility certification is not a requirement.

Practical Advice
These trousers are designed with layering in mind. We recommend selecting your usual size, as the elasticated waist and generous cut are specifically engineered to fit comfortably over your standard work trousers. If you typically wear very bulky thermal layers, you may wish to consider the fit, but for most professional applications, the standard sizing provides ample room for movement.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical integrity of the PVC coating and ensure the trousers remain waterproof, certain care standards must be observed. Proper maintenance not only extends the life of the garment but ensures your custom branding remains in peak condition.
A maximum wash temperature of 40°C on a mild process is recommended. Using a high-temperature cycle can cause the PVC coating to degrade and peel, which will eventually allow water to seep through the fabric.
Bleach should be avoided entirely. The harsh chemicals in bleach will break down the polyester fibres and destroy the waterproof barrier, rendering the trousers useless in a downpour.
Under no circumstances should these trousers be tumble dried. The intense heat of a dryer can melt the PVC coating or cause the polyester to warp and lose its shape. We recommend hanging them to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.
Ironing is not permitted, as the heat will fuse the synthetic materials. Similarly, dry cleaning should be avoided, as the solvents used in the process are known to damage waterproof membranes and coatings.
