Product Overview
The Yoko Hi-vis Waterproof Overtrousers (HVS463) are a staple for any outdoor professional requiring reliable protection against the elements without sacrificing safety. Engineered to be worn directly over your existing work trousers, these overtrousers provide a robust barrier against wind and rain while ensuring you remain conspicuous in low-light environments. The design balances durability with a lightweight feel, allowing for unrestricted movement throughout the working day without the bulk often associated with foul-weather gear.
Key Features
- Certified Safety Standards: These trousers conform to EN ISO20471 Class 1 for visibility and EN343 for protection against foul weather, ensuring you meet site safety requirements while staying dry.
- Rail Industry Compliance: The Orange/Navy colourway specifically conforms to RIS-3279-TOM, making it an approved choice for railway workers across the UK network.
- Strategic Dirt Camouflage: The navy contrast panels at the hem are specifically designed to disguise the splashes of dirt and grime common in heavy-duty environments, maintaining a professional appearance even after a long shift.
- Adjustable Fit: Featuring an elasticated waistband and snap buttons at the leg openings, these trousers can be quickly adjusted to fit securely over various types of work boots.
- Enhanced Visibility: Two 5cm wide reflective bands wrap around the lower legs, providing critical visibility when working near moving vehicles or machinery.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% polyester with a technical Oxford PU coating, the fabric is purposefully selected for its waterproof capabilities and resistance to wear. To ensure total moisture protection, the seams are both stitched and taped, preventing water ingress at the points where traditional garments often fail. The medium-weight fabric offers a substantial feel that resists snagging without adding unnecessary weight to your equipment list.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Your company branding is often the first thing a client notices. For these overtrousers, we offer both professional embroidery and high-visibility printing options. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding a durable, high-quality company logo or staff name, giving the garment a sophisticated finish that withstands regular use.
Alternatively, if you require larger logos or safety messaging that needs to be bold and easily readable from a distance, our precision printing service is ideal. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on over four decades of experience since MyWorkwear was established in 1976. We ensure your branding is applied without compromising the waterproof integrity of the garment.
Use Cases
These overtrousers are ideally suited for civil engineering, construction, and landscaping professionals who face the unpredictable British weather. The Orange/Navy variant is specifically tailored for the rail industry, while the standard high-visibility options are perfect for warehouse yard work or roadside maintenance where visibility is paramount for worker safety.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, remember that these are overtrousers designed to be worn over regular clothing. If you are between sizes or wear particularly bulky work trousers, you may wish to consider the larger size to ensure a full range of motion. For a complete weather-protective suit, these trousers can be paired with the matching Yoko jackets, such as the HVP211 or HVP300 models.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the integrity of waterproof garments is essential for long-term performance and safety compliance. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a synthetic cycle. This helps to remove dirt without damaging the waterproof coating or the reflective bands.
It is vital to avoid biological powders and bleach, as these harsh chemicals can break down the polyester fibres and degrade the visibility of the high-vis material. Do not tumble dry, wring, or iron this garment; high heat and mechanical stress will compromise the taped seams and the Oxford PU coating, leading to leaks.
Finally, please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 wash cycles. Exceeding this may result in a reduction of the high-visibility properties. The garment should be inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage to ensure it continues to meet the necessary safety standards for your work environment.
