Product Overview
The Yoko Hi-vis 2-band waistcoat (HVW102) is a fundamental component of professional safety equipment, designed specifically for individuals who require high visibility without the restriction of a full jacket. This lightweight waistcoat offers a simple yet highly effective solution for site compliance, featuring a generous surface area for branding. Whether you are managing a large construction site or a small delivery team, this garment ensures your workforce remains visible and professional in all lighting conditions.
Key Features
- Safety Standards Compliance: The Hi-Vis Yellow and Orange versions conform to EN ISO20471:2013 Class 2, providing the necessary protection for high-risk environments and ensuring your team meets workplace safety regulations.
- High-Visibility Reflective Tape: Two 5cm width reflective bands encircle the body, ensuring maximum light reflection from every angle to keep the wearer visible in low-light scenarios.
- Secure Hook and Loop Fastening: The front closure allows for quick application and removal, facilitating easy layering over other workwear garments like jumpers or jackets.
- Breathable Polyester Fabric: The lightweight construction ensures the wearer does not overheat during physical activity, maintaining comfort throughout the working day.
Design & Performance
Engineered from 100% polyester, this waistcoat is designed for durability and ease of wear. The lightweight fabric is chosen for its ability to maintain high-visibility pigment while remaining comfortable over extended shifts. Unlike heavier materials, this polyester weave provides a balance of strength and breathability, ensuring it doesn't become a burden when worn over multiple layers of clothing.
The performance of the reflective tapes is critical; they are securely bonded to the fabric to withstand the rigours of daily work. The simple design prioritises functionality, allowing for a full range of movement while keeping the garment securely in place via the hook and loop fastening. The sewn tag ensures that branding information and safety certifications remain attached for the life of the garment.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This waistcoat is an excellent canvas for customisation. Given the large, unobstructed panels on both the front and rear, it is particularly well-suited for large-scale branding. Our Telford-based team, with expertise dating back to 1976, handles all customisation in-house to ensure the highest standards.
For a sophisticated and durable finish, embroidery is recommended for chest-placed company logos or individual names. However, for maximum impact, high-quality printing is the preferred choice for the back of the waistcoat, allowing for large company names or contact information to be seen from a distance. Both methods are applied with precision to ensure they do not compromise the integrity of the safety features or the reflective materials.
Use Cases
This garment is essential for a wide variety of sectors, including construction, logistics, and traffic management. It is equally appropriate for warehouse staff who need to remain visible to vehicle operators, or for event stewards who require clear identification amongst large crowds. Its unisex design and broad size range make it a versatile choice for any diverse workforce requiring basic but effective safety attire.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, please consider what you will be wearing beneath the waistcoat. If it is to be worn over a thick winter jacket, we suggest opting for a larger size to ensure a comfortable fit. The size range extends from Medium (40/42") to 3XL (56/58"), providing options for most team members. We recommend consulting the sizing guide for precise measurements before ordering.
Caring for your product
To ensure the continued performance of the reflective elements and the vibrancy of the hi-vis fabric, it is vital to follow the care instructions precisely. Maintaining the cleanliness of the reflective tape is essential for safety compliance.
We recommend a maximum domestic washing temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the polyester fibres and cause the reflective tape to lose its luminosity. Please do not use bleach, as this will chemically strip the high-visibility pigments from the fabric, rendering it non-compliant with safety standards.
This garment should not be ironed, tumbled dried, or dry cleaned. High heat from irons or dryers can melt the synthetic fibres and ruin the reflective properties. Furthermore, industrial laundering is too aggressive for this garment and may lead to premature wear. Please note that the reflective properties are rated for a maximum of 25 wash cycles; beyond this point, the waistcoat should be replaced to ensure your safety is not compromised.
