Product Overview
The Dynamic Air Baselayer Top is a sophisticated technical garment engineered for professionals who require consistent thermal regulation and moisture management throughout the working day. Constructed from an innovative blend of synthetic fibres, this top is specifically designed to repel moisture away from the skin, preventing the discomfort and chill associated with damp clothing. Its close-fitting profile ensures it sits flush against the body, allowing it to function as a highly efficient second skin under your primary workwear.
Key Features
- Advanced Moisture-Wicking Fabric: The technical composition actively draws perspiration away from the body, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable during periods of high physical exertion.
- Seamless Panelling: By reducing the number of internal seams, this garment significantly lowers the risk of skin irritation and chafing, which is essential for long shifts.
- Contrast Stitching: Provides a modern, professional aesthetic while reinforcing the structure of the garment for improved longevity.
- Multi-Season Versatility: The balanced fabric weight and breathability make this top suitable for layering in winter or wearing as a standalone moisture-management layer in milder conditions.
Design & Performance
The performance of the Dynamic Air Baselayer Top lies in its intricate material composition. The primary use of Polyamide provides exceptional durability and abrasion resistance, ensuring the top withstands the rigours of daily wear. The inclusion of Polypropylene enhances the moisture-repellent properties, as this fibre is naturally hydrophobic, pushing water vapour away from the skin to the outer layers of your clothing system.
The addition of Elastane ensures a four-way stretch, allowing the garment to move with the wearer without restriction or loss of shape. This elasticity is vital for maintaining the close fit necessary for optimal wicking performance. Furthermore, the seamless panelling is strategically placed to accommodate the natural movement of the torso, ensuring that the garment remains comfortable even when worn under multiple heavy layers.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or heat-seal printing, on this specific item due to its function as a high-performance base layer. This garment is designed to sit directly against the skin and maintain a specific level of compression and breathability. Adding embroidery would create internal needle points that cause significant skin irritation, while heat-seal transfers would likely peel due to the high elastane content and the constant stretching of the fabric. To preserve the technical integrity and comfort of the garment, it is best left as designed.
Use Cases
This base layer is an essential item for tradespeople working in variable environments. It is particularly effective for those in the construction, logistics, and utility sectors who transition between high-activity tasks and stationary periods. Whether you are working on a damp site in the early morning or moving between indoor and outdoor tasks, this top provides the foundational layer needed to stay dry and regulated.
Why MyWorkwear
Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been providing high-quality clothing solutions from our base in Telford. We understand that the right workwear starts with the layers no one see. Our long-standing expertise allows us to curate technical garments like the Dynamic Air Baselayer, ensuring our customers are protected from the elements while maintaining a professional standard.
Practical Advice
For a base layer to perform effectively, it must be in direct contact with the skin. We recommend choosing your standard size for a snug, athletic fit. If the garment is too loose, the moisture-wicking properties will be compromised as the fabric will not be able to effectively draw sweat away from your body. This top is designed to be the first layer in a three-layer system: base layer for moisture, mid-layer for insulation, and outer shell for weather protection.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical performance and elasticity of your Dynamic Air Baselayer, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures can damage the elastane and polypropylene fibres, leading to a loss of shape and reduced wicking efficiency over time.
It is vital that you do not bleach this garment, as harsh chemicals will break down the synthetic fibres and ruin the charcoal finish. Similarly, do not tumble dry or iron this top. Heat from dryers and irons will melt the fine synthetic filaments, effectively sealing the breathable pores of the fabric and rendering the moisture-management properties useless. For the best results, allow the garment to air dry naturally; given its moisture-repellent nature, it will dry significantly faster than standard cotton alternatives.
Finally, do not dry clean this item. The solvents used in dry cleaning are too aggressive for this material blend and may cause the fabric to become brittle or lose its stretch.
