Product Overview
The Thermal T-Shirt Long Sleeve is a fundamental component of the All Weather Protection range, specifically engineered to serve as a high-performance base layer. In the unpredictable British climate, maintaining core temperature is a matter of both comfort and safety. This garment is designed to provide consistent warmth without the restrictive bulk often associated with cold-weather gear. Its long sleeve construction ensures full arm coverage, while the classic round neck allows it to sit discreetly beneath standard work shirts or sweatshirts.
Key Features
- Optimal Heat Retention: The specialised fabric construction is designed to trap warm air close to the skin, providing a reliable thermal barrier in cold environments.
- Breathable Material: While it excels at retaining heat, the material allows moisture and excess heat to escape, preventing the wearer from overheating during periods of physical exertion.
- Round Neck Design: The low-profile neckline makes this an ideal under-garment, ensuring it remains hidden and comfortable beneath your primary workwear.
- Durable Fabric Blend: The 50% Polyester and 50% Cotton composition offers a balance of soft-touch comfort and long-lasting resilience, essential for daily professional use.
Design & Performance
This medium-weight thermal t-shirt is built for the rigours of the workplace. The choice of a polyester-cotton blend is a technical one; the polyester provides the necessary structural integrity and moisture-wicking capabilities, while the cotton ensures a soft, non-irritating feel against the skin. This synergy of materials results in a garment that handles the demands of a physical workday while keeping the wearer dry and warm.
The fit is designed to be close to the body, which is the most effective way to manage thermal regulation. By minimising the space between the fabric and the skin, the garment can more efficiently trap body heat, acting as a personal climate control system. It is a substantial, sturdy piece of kit that feels dependable from the first wear.
Why No Customisation?
We provide this thermal garment without customisation options such as embroidery or heat transfer. As a dedicated base layer, its primary function is thermal efficiency and skin-side comfort. Adding stitching or vinyl to the fabric could potentially compromise the thermal properties and, perhaps more importantly, lead to skin irritation when worn directly against the body for extended shifts. It is designed to work hard behind the scenes while your branded outer layers do the talking.
Use Cases
This garment is indispensable for anyone working in unheated warehouses, outdoor construction sites, or transit roles where temperature fluctuations are common. It is particularly favoured by those in the logistics and building sectors who require reliable warmth throughout the winter months without sacrificing their range of movement.
Why MyWorkwear
Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been at the forefront of the industry, operating from our base in Telford. We understand that workwear is not just about looking the part; it is about performance and durability. With nearly five decades of expertise, we select products that meet the high standards our customers expect, ensuring that every layer you wear is fit for purpose.
Practical Advice
When selecting your size, remember that thermal layers work best when they are snug but not restrictive. For those working in extreme cold, we recommend pairing this with a medium-weight fleece and a windproof outer shell to create a complete layering system. Layering thin, effective garments is always more efficient than wearing one heavy, cumbersome coat.
Caring for your product
To maintain the thermal performance and shape of your garment, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the polyester fibres and lead to premature wear of the cotton, reducing the garment's lifespan.
Bleaching should be avoided at all costs, as it will break down the fabric's structure and destroy its ability to retain heat. Similarly, we advise against dry cleaning, as the chemicals used can be too harsh for this specific blend.
For drying, please refrain from using a tumble dryer. Instead, line dry the garment to preserve its elasticity and fit. If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C to avoid scorching the synthetic fibres.
