Product Overview

The B120 Thermal T-Shirt is a fundamental component of any professional's winter wardrobe. Designed specifically for the All Weather Protection collection, this garment provides an essential layer of insulation against the skin. Unlike bulky outerwear, this t-shirt focuses on core temperature regulation, ensuring that heat is trapped close to the body while allowing the wearer to move freely without the restriction of heavy layers. Its traditional cut and classic black finish make it a discreet yet effective addition to your daily workwear kit.

Key Features

  • Breathable Material Construction: The fabric is engineered to allow the skin to breathe, which prevents the build-up of moisture and keeps you comfortable if your activity levels increase or the environment warms up.

  • Traditional Round Neck: The low-profile neckline is specifically designed for layering, ensuring it remains hidden and comfortable when worn under a standard uniform or work shirt.

  • Short Sleeve Cut: Provides essential core warmth while leaving the arms free from bulk, which is particularly beneficial for workers who require a full range of motion in their upper limbs.

  • Cotton-Polyester Blend: Combines the natural softness and comfort of cotton with the durability and moisture-wicking properties of polyester.

Design & Performance

Performance in a thermal garment is entirely dependent on its ability to manage the microclimate between the skin and the fabric. This medium-weight t-shirt uses a 50% Polyester and 50% Cotton blend to achieve this balance. While the cotton ensures a soft, non-irritating touch against the skin for long shifts, the polyester provides the necessary resilience to withstand the rigours of a professional working environment. The construction of the material is intentionally airy enough to allow for vapour transmission, which is critical for preventing that damp, chilled feeling that can occur with less sophisticated thermal wear.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or print, on this specific thermal t-shirt. As a base layer intended to sit directly against the skin, the addition of embroidery would introduce thousands of small needle punctures and stiff thread backings. This would not only compromise the thermal integrity of the garment but would also likely cause significant skin irritation and chafing during physical work. To ensure your comfort and the garment's performance, we recommend keeping this layer as-is and applying branding to your mid or outer layers instead.

Use Cases

This garment is ideal for any professional operating in cold environments where physical activity is required. It is a staple for construction workers, site engineers, and warehouse staff who need to maintain a steady core temperature throughout the day. It is equally effective for outdoor maintenance teams who require a reliable foundation layer that can be easily worn under high-visibility gear or heavy-duty jackets.

Why MyWorkwear

Our heritage is built on a deep understanding of what makes a garment work in a real-world setting, ensuring that every item we supply meets our rigorous standards for quality and value.

Practical Advice

To get the most out of your thermal wear, it should be worn as a snug fit directly against the skin. This ensures there is no large air gap for cold to circulate. When layering, we recommend wearing this t-shirt under a sweatshirt or fleece, followed by a windproof outer shell. This three-layer system is the most effective way to manage body heat in fluctuating UK weather conditions.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the thermal properties and structural integrity of this garment is vital for its longevity. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can cause the synthetic fibres to lose their elasticity and may lead to shrinkage, which would ruin the close fit required for effective insulation.

Do not use bleach on this garment. Harsh chemical bleaching agents will degrade the polyester-cotton fibres, leading to premature thinning of the fabric and a loss of its heat-retaining properties. For the same reason, the garment should not be dry cleaned, as the solvents used can be too aggressive for this specific fabric blend.

To dry the t-shirt, we advise against using a tumble dryer. Instead, line dry the garment. High heat from a dryer can warp the weave and affect the breathability of the material. If ironing is required to keep the garment looking smart, use a maximum iron temperature of 150°C. Be careful not to exceed this, as excessive heat can melt the polyester components of the fabric.
