Product Overview

The Anti-Static ESD Coat is a technical garment engineered for professionals working in environments where electrostatic discharge (ESD) must be strictly controlled. Designed with safety and comfort as primary considerations, this inherently anti-static coat provides a reliable barrier against static build-up, protecting sensitive electronic components and meeting the rigorous demands of laboratory and technical workspaces.

Key Features

  • Concealed stud front: This design choice ensures a professional appearance while preventing the metal fastenings from accidentally scratching surfaces or coming into contact with sensitive equipment.
  • Three functional pockets: Featuring one chest pocket and two lower patch pockets, the coat offers ample storage for essential tools and personal items without compromising the garment's protective properties.
  • Adjustable cuffs: The inclusion of adjustable cuffs allows the wearer to achieve a secure and comfortable fit, preventing sleeves from interfering with delicate manual tasks.
  • Inherently anti-static properties: The protection is integrated directly into the fabric, ensuring that the anti-static performance does not diminish with repeated laundering.

Design & Performance

This medium-weight coat is constructed from a specialised blend of 65% polyester, 34% cotton, and 1% conductive fibre. The inclusion of conductive fibre is critical, as it facilitates the safe dissipation of static electricity across the garment's surface. The polyester-cotton base provides a durable yet breathable finish, ensuring the garment can withstand the rigours of daily professional use while keeping the wearer comfortable throughout a full shift.

The black finish offers a modern, sophisticated aesthetic that maintains its appearance even in busy industrial settings. The technical construction ensures the coat remains functional and reliable, providing peace of mind for those working in electronics manufacturing, clean rooms, or sensitive testing facilities.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its technical nature, the Anti-Static ESD Coat is fully compatible with our customisation services. For a professional and permanent corporate identity, we recommend embroidery. Our in-house team in Telford uses high-quality threads to recreate your logo or staff names with precision, ensuring the branding withstands the same industrial conditions as the coat itself.

Alternatively, print customisation is available for those who require larger, more prominent designs. Whether you choose print or embroidery, all work is managed by our expert team, who have been providing specialist workwear solutions since 1976. We ensure that the application of your branding does not compromise the technical integrity of the garment.

Use Cases

This coat is an essential requirement for technicians and engineers working in electronics assembly, telecommunications, and aerospace industries. It is equally suited for laboratory environments and clean rooms where the prevention of electrostatic discharge is a safety or quality control mandate.

Practical Advice

This coat is designed as an outer layer; we recommend reviewing our size guide to ensure it fits comfortably over your standard work attire. The adjustable cuffs should be secured to prevent the garment from snagging on equipment during precision work.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical integrity and static-dissipative properties of your coat, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. A maximum wash temperature of 60°C is recommended to remove contaminants effectively without damaging the conductive fibres embedded in the fabric.

You should avoid the use of bleach, as harsh chemical agents can degrade the synthetic and conductive elements of the garment, eventually rendering the anti-static protection ineffective. For drying, a low-temperature tumble dry or line drying is preferred to prevent heat damage to the fibres.

If ironing is required, please observe a maximum temperature of 150°C. Excessive heat can alter the properties of the polyester blend. For those who prefer professional maintenance, the coat is suitable for dry cleaning using Tetrachloroethene in a normal process.
