Product Overview
The Yoko Hi-vis flame-retardant anti-static waistcoat (HVW100ASFR) is a specialised piece of safety equipment designed for professionals working in high-risk environments. This lightweight waistcoat provides a critical layer of protection by combining high-visibility compliance with flame-retardant and anti-static properties. It is engineered to meet the stringent demands of industries where electrostatic discharge and thermal hazards are daily concerns.
Key Features
- Triple Safety Compliance: This garment meets EN ISO20471 Class 2 for high visibility, EN 14116 Index 1 for protection against heat and flames, and EN 1149 for anti-static safety, ensuring you are protected against multiple site hazards simultaneously.
- High-Performance Reflective Tape: Equipped with two 5cm wide flame-retardant reflective bands around the body and one over each shoulder, ensuring maximum visibility even in low-light conditions.
- Inherited Flame Retardancy: The reflective material is designed with inherited flame-retardant properties, meaning the protection is built into the fabric rather than just applied as a coating.
- Practical Hook and Loop Closure: The front fastener allows for quick and easy removal, which is a vital safety feature in emergency situations.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% polyester, this waistcoat is specifically designed to be lightweight and unobtrusive. The fabric choice ensures that the garment remains breathable when worn over other workwear, preventing overheating during active shifts. Despite its light feel, the technical construction is robust enough to meet rigorous safety standards, providing peace of mind for those working in sensitive environments like welding workshops or electronics manufacturing.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite its technical specifications, this waistcoat is well-suited for professional customisation. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team, established in 1976, can help you maintain a professional appearance while adhering to safety regulations. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding company logos or individual names, providing a durable and professional finish. Alternatively, large-scale printing is ideal for bold branding on the back of the waistcoat. We ensure that all customisation is handled with care to preserve the integrity of the safety garment.
Use Cases
This waistcoat is an essential requirement for individuals working in the telecommunications industry, electronics sectors, and welding workshops. It is designed for any professional environment where visibility is mandatory and there is a recorded risk of static buildup or accidental exposure to heat and flames.

Practical Advice
This waistcoat is available in a broad size range from S to 3XL, designed to fit over standard work jackets or jumpers. When selecting your size, consider the layers you will be wearing beneath it to ensure a comfortable fit that does not restrict movement. For maximum safety, ensure the hook and loop fastener is always securely closed when on site.
Caring for your product
To ensure this waistcoat continues to provide the necessary level of protection, it should be washed at a maximum temperature of 40°C on a normal synthetic cycle. Maintaining this temperature is vital for preserving the flame-retardant and anti-static properties of the polyester fibres.
Do not use bleach, as this will chemically damage the technical properties of the fabric and the reflective tapes, compromising your safety. The garment should not be ironed, tumble dried, or wrung out, as the intense heat and mechanical pressure can warp the material and destroy the reflective elements.
We recommend a cold rinse and a short spin to maintain the garment's structure. Please be aware that this waistcoat has a maximum lifespan of 25 wash cycles. After this point, the safety features may no longer meet the certified standards, and the garment should be replaced to ensure your continued protection.
