Product Overview
The Yoko Top Cool Open Mesh 2-Band-and-Braces Waistcoat (HVW120) is a specialised safety garment engineered for professionals operating in high-temperature environments. While safety compliance is mandatory on many sites, heat can often lead to discomfort and reduced productivity. This waistcoat solves that conflict by replacing traditional solid fabrics with a lightweight, breathable mesh that facilitates rapid heat dissipation and moisture evaporation, ensuring the wearer remains comfortable and focused throughout their shift.
Key Features
- Certified Safety Standards: This garment fully conforms to EN ISO20471:2013 Class 2 and ANSI/ISEA 107-2004, providing the necessary visibility for hazardous work zones.
- High-Performance Mesh: The open-knitted fabric is designed to promote airflow, allowing sweat to evaporate quickly rather than being trapped against the body.
- Enhanced Visibility: 5cm wide reflective tapes encircle the torso, with additional tapes over each shoulder to ensure you are seen from all angles.
- Secure Fastening: A reliable hook and loop front closure allows for quick donning and removal, even when wearing gloves.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% polyester, this waistcoat prioritises durability alongside its lightweight profile. The mesh knit is robust enough to withstand the rigours of a daily work schedule while remaining significantly more breathable than standard high-visibility vests. The design ensures that even in stagnant air or enclosed hot spaces, the natural movement of the wearer encourages air circulation through the fabric, making it easier to manage perspiration in demanding conditions.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite its mesh construction, the Yoko HVW120 is an excellent candidate for customisation. For a superior professional appearance, our embroidery service can apply your company logo or staff names with precision. If you require larger, more striking branding across the back, our high-quality printing process is ideal for bold designs. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, ensuring your brand is represented to the highest standard.
Use Cases
This waistcoat is the preferred choice for groundworkers, surveyors, and warehouse staff working in unconditioned environments or during the summer months. It is equally suitable for any professional requiring Class 2 visibility where heat stress is a potential risk factor.

Practical Advice
This waistcoat is designed with a generous fit to be worn over existing work clothing. Available in sizes ranging from Medium to 3XL, we recommend checking the size guide to ensure a comfortable fit. It is particularly effective when layered over moisture-wicking base layers to maximise the cooling effect of the mesh fabric.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and structural integrity of this waistcoat, proper maintenance is essential for your continued safety.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the polyester fibres and degrade the reflective properties of the tape, which are vital for remaining visible in low-light conditions.
Do not use bleach, as harsh oxidising agents will strip the fluorescent pigment from the fabric and render the garment non-compliant with safety standards. Similarly, dry cleaning should be avoided as the chemicals used in perchloroethylene or hydrocarbons can permanently damage the reflective surfaces.
This garment must not be ironed. The mesh fabric is sensitive to direct heat and will likely melt or deform if it comes into contact with a hot iron. For the same reason, do not tumble dry; allow the waistcoat to air dry naturally to preserve the adhesive and luminosity of the reflective bands.
Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 wash cycles. Beyond this point, the reflective materials may no longer meet the strict visibility requirements of the EN ISO20471 standard, and the waistcoat should be replaced to ensure you remain fully protected.
