Product Overview

The Russell Collection Short Sleeve Herringbone Shirt represents a significant advancement in the professional shirting market. As the first herringbone shirt specifically developed for the imprint and workwear sector, it provides a sophisticated alternative to the traditional Oxford shirt. This garment is engineered for professionals who require a balance of high-street style and the practical durability necessary for daily wear.

Key Features
  • Tailored fit: Provides a contemporary, streamlined silhouette that ensures a sharp and professional appearance in modern business environments.
  • Easycare fabric: The blend is specifically treated to resist excessive creasing, making it simpler to maintain a crisp look throughout the working day.
  • No show-through: The dense herringbone weave ensures complete opacity, providing confidence and maintaining professional standards regardless of the lighting conditions.
  • Semi-cutaway collar: A modern, short-leaf design that works equally well with or without a tie, offering versatility for various corporate dress codes.

Design & Performance

This shirt is constructed from a refined blend of 84% cotton and 16% polyester. This specific composition is chosen to leverage the natural breathability and soft hand-feel of cotton while utilizing polyester to enhance the garment's structural integrity and resistance to wear. The herringbone weave provides a subtle, textured pattern that catches the light elegantly, distinguishing it from flatter, standard weaves.

Despite its lightweight and comfortable feel, the fabric is exceptionally hard-wearing. The narrow placket and refined stitching details reflect a high-quality retail finish, ensuring that your team presents a premium image to clients and customers alike.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The textured surface of the herringbone weave makes this shirt an ideal canvas for high-quality embroidery. We recommend embroidery for corporate logos and staff names, as the dense fabric supports intricate needlework, resulting in a prestigious and long-lasting finish.

For larger branding requirements or promotional events, the fabric also accepts print exceptionally well. Our Telford-based team, with expertise dating back to 1976, manages all customisation in-house. This ensures that every logo is applied with the precision required to complement the shirt’s premium retail aesthetic.

Use Cases

This shirt is perfectly suited for hospitality management, front-of-house staff, and corporate office environments. Its durable nature also makes it a reliable choice for sales teams and professionals who are frequently on the move but must maintain a formal appearance. The short-sleeve design is particularly beneficial for active service roles or during warmer months.

Practical Advice

This garment features a tailored fit, which is more fitted than a standard classic cut. We recommend measuring the neck size accurately, as the sizing ranges from 14.5" to 19.5". If you prefer a more relaxed feel around the torso, you may wish to consider the next size up, though the tailored cut is designed to look best when following the body's natural lines.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-quality finish and ensure the longevity of your custom branding, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes daily grime without subjecting the cotton-rich fibres to unnecessary heat stress, which could lead to premature wear.

This shirt is suitable for tumble drying on a low setting. Avoiding high-heat cycles will preserve the easycare properties and help prevent the fabric from becoming brittle over time. Following these instructions will ensure the herringbone texture remains distinct and the garment remains easy to iron.
