Product Overview

The Russell Collection J962M Long Sleeve Herringbone Shirt represents a significant evolution in corporate attire. As the first herringbone shirt specifically engineered for the decoration market, it offers a sophisticated alternative to the traditional Oxford weave. This garment is designed for those who require a professional appearance that does not sacrifice durability, combining a classic retail-quality fabric with the structural integrity needed for daily work environments.

Key Features
  • Herringbone Weave: This textured pattern provides a contemporary aesthetic and a superior finish compared to standard plain-weave shirts.
  • Easy Care Finish: The fabric is treated to resist excessive creasing, ensuring you maintain a sharp, professional look with minimal maintenance.
  • No Show Through: The density of the weave ensures the fabric remains opaque, providing confidence and modesty in all lighting conditions.
  • Tailored Fit: This modern cut provides a sleek silhouette that aligns with current retail trends while allowing for ease of movement.
  • Versatile Cuffs: The rounded cuffs include a cuff link option, allowing for a quick transition from standard office wear to more formal corporate events.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a refined blend of 84% cotton and 16% polyester, this shirt balances natural breathability with synthetic resilience. The cotton-rich composition ensures a soft feel against the skin, while the polyester content helps the garment retain its shape and colour after repeated laundering. The fabric is a lightweight material that feels substantial without being restrictive, making it ideal for long shifts in climate-controlled environments.

The technical design is further enhanced by a short, semi-cutaway collar and a narrow placket, which contribute to its modern, clean-lined appearance. Every stitch is placed to ensure the garment survives the rigours of a busy professional life, from the boardroom to the front-of-house hospitality desk.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The fine, stable weave of this herringbone fabric makes it an exceptional canvas for custom branding. For a professional appearance, we recommend embroidery; the density of the fabric supports intricate logos and text without pulling or distorting the material. This is ideal for adding company logos or staff names to the chest or collar.

If your branding requires larger, more vibrant graphics, the flat surface of the herringbone pattern also accommodates high-quality printing. Our in-house team in Telford, drawing on expertise dating back to 1976, will ensure your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the premium feel of the Russell Collection garment.

Use Cases

This shirt is perfectly suited for the hospitality industry, corporate management, and sales teams who need to make a strong first impression. Its durable yet stylish nature makes it a reliable choice for front-of-house staff in hotels or upscale restaurants, as well as for professionals representing their company at trade shows and exhibitions.

Practical Advice

The J962M features a tailored fit; if you prefer a more generous cut or intend to wear a thermal base layer underneath during colder months, you may wish to consider sizing up. The short, semi-cutaway collar is designed to look equally professional whether worn with a tie or open-necked.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and professional finish of your shirt, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes daily grime without subjecting the cotton-rich fibres to excessive thermal stress, which can lead to premature wear.

This garment is suitable for tumble drying, though we advise using a low heat setting. High heat can damage the easy-care treatment and cause the embroidery threads to shrink at a different rate than the fabric, potentially causing puckering around your logo. For the best results, iron while slightly damp to easily remove any remaining creases.
