Product Overview

The Nimbus Rochester modern fit Oxford shirt represents a sophisticated evolution of a timeless wardrobe staple. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this long-sleeved shirt combines traditional British corporate style with a refined Scandinavian aesthetic. The use of 100% fine combed and mercerized cotton ensures a garment that is not only soft to the touch but also possesses a subtle luster and enhanced durability. Designed for the professional who requires a sharp, tailored appearance without sacrificing comfort, the Rochester features a modern fit that provides a clean silhouette suitable for both formal and smart-casual business environments.

Key Features
  • Mercerized Combed Cotton: This high-quality fabric treatment increases the strength of the fibres and gives the shirt a more vibrant finish, ensuring it remains looking professional after repeated wear.
  • Shaped Pleats and Curved Hem: These tailoring details provide a structured, modern fit that stays tucked in or looks equally neat when worn over trousers.
  • Mother-of-Pearl Style Buttons: The inclusion of toned contrast buttons adds a touch of luxury and high-end retail styling to your corporate uniform.
  • Third Collar Button: A button at the centre-back of the collar ensures your collar remains perfectly positioned, maintaining a crisp appearance throughout the working day.
  • Garment Washed Finish: This process pre-shrinks the fabric and provides a softer feel from the very first wear, preventing discomfort during long shifts.

Design & Performance

The Rochester is engineered from a medium-weight Oxford fabric that offers a substantial feel and excellent longevity. The mercerization process is a technical highlight; by treating the cotton fibres, the fabric becomes smoother and more resistant to pilling, which is essential for workwear that undergoes daily use. The combed cotton further removes short fibres and impurities, resulting in a fabric that is exceptionally smooth against the skin.

Performance-wise, the modern fit is designed to move with the wearer. The integration of shaped pleats ensures that the garment does not feel restrictive across the back or shoulders, making it an ideal choice for roles that require a blend of desk work and active movement. The curved hem is specifically designed to provide a versatile look that bridges the gap between traditional formalwear and modern corporate attire.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This Oxford shirt is an exemplary candidate for both print and embroidery, and choosing the right method depends on your branding requirements. Embroidery is highly recommended for the Rochester; the substantial nature of the Oxford weave supports high-stitch-count logos beautifully, providing a raised, professional finish that is synonymous with corporate authority. This is typically placed on the left chest or collar for a discrete yet impactful look.

For businesses looking for larger, more graphic designs, our Telford-based printing team can apply sharp, durable prints. Whether you choose embroidery for a traditional logo or print for a more modern branding approach, our in-house experts—with heritage dating back to 1976—ensure every garment meets our rigorous quality standards.

Use Cases

The Nimbus Rochester is perfectly suited for customer-facing roles within the hospitality sector, corporate offices, and high-end retail environments. Its sophisticated finish makes it a preferred choice for management teams and sales professionals who need to project an image of expertise and reliability. It also forms part of our Edge workwear collection, designed for businesses that want to stand out with a more premium uniform solution.

Why MyWorkwear

At MyWorkwear, we have been perfecting the art of technical garment customisation since 1976. Operating from our specialised facility in Telford, we combine decades of industry knowledge with modern technology to ensure your team looks its best. We understand that your workwear is a reflection of your business's standards, which is why we only partner with brands like Nimbus that share our commitment to quality and ethical manufacturing.

Practical Advice

The Rochester features a modern fit, which is slightly more tailored than a standard classic fit. We recommend reviewing our size guide, which covers sizes from Small to 4XL, to ensure the best fit for your team. Because this is a medium-weight cotton garment, it layers exceptionally well under knitwear or a blazer during the winter months, while remaining breathable enough to be worn alone in warmer office environments.

Caring for your product

To maintain the superior finish of the mercerized cotton and the integrity of your custom branding, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided on the garment label. Proper care ensures that the fabric retains its shape and the colours remain vibrant over time.

Failure to follow the recommended washing temperatures may result in premature wear of the cotton fibres or damage to the personalised embroidery or print. We advise washing the garment inside out to protect the surface of the fabric and any applied logos from abrasion during the wash cycle.
