Product Overview
The Result Genuine Recycled R500X Recycled Ripstop Padded Safety Jacket represents a significant step forward in technical workwear, harmonising high-visibility safety requirements with modern sustainable practices. Constructed using the equivalent of 23 one-litre plastic bottles, this jacket does not compromise on performance for the sake of its eco-credentials. It provides a well-engineered barrier against the elements, featuring a water-repellent finish and windproof construction that ensures the wearer remains protected and comfortable throughout the working day.
Key Features
- Certified Safety Standards: This jacket meets EN ISO 20471: 2013 + A1:2016 Class 2 requirements, while the orange variant also complies with RIS-3279-TOM Class 2 for use within the rail industry, ensuring maximum visibility in hazardous conditions.
- High-Quality Hardware: The inclusion of a full front YKK zip with a chin guard and zip pull ensures smooth operation and durability, even when used frequently in harsh environments.
- Enhanced Protection: A shaped longer back panel offers additional coverage when bending or reaching, while the padded hood and elasticised bound hem and cuffs help to trap heat and exclude draughts.
- Practical Storage: Equipped with zipped front pockets and a secure inner pocket, providing safe storage for essential tools and personal items.
- Abrasion Resistance: The recycled ripstop outer fabric is specifically designed to resist tearing and withstand the rigours of daily site work.
Design & Performance
The R500X is designed for those who require more than just a standard high-visibility garment. The outer fabric is a recycled ripstop polyester bonded with TPU, which provides a formidable shield against wind and light rain without sacrificing breathability. Inside, the jacket is filled with substantial REPREVE® performance recycled padding, which offers excellent thermal insulation without adding excessive bulk.
The ripstop weave is particularly effective in workwear; should the fabric suffer a small puncture, the reinforced grid pattern prevents the tear from spreading. This ensures the longevity of the garment in industrial settings. Furthermore, the printed safety bands are designed to remain flexible, moving with the wearer to prevent the restrictive feel often associated with traditional stitched reflective tape.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The R500X is exceptionally well-suited for professional branding. It includes dedicated decorator access points inside the left chest and across the back, allowing our Telford-based team to apply customisation without compromising the internal padding or lining.
For a superior, long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names on the chest. This provides a three-dimensional, high-quality appearance that withstands frequent laundering. For larger branding requirements on the back, our advanced print processes allow for bold, clear designs that maintain the garment's visibility and professional aesthetic. Since 1976, MyWorkwear has specialised in ensuring that your corporate identity is applied with precision and technical expertise.
Use Cases
This jacket is an essential equipment choice for professionals across various sectors, including construction, logistics, and site management. The orange version is specifically tailored for rail workers requiring RIS-3279-TOM compliance. Its breathable yet warm construction makes it ideal for outdoor workers who transition between high-activity tasks and stationary periods in cold or inclement weather.

Practical Advice
Available in sizes ranging from S to 4XL, this jacket is designed with a generous fit to accommodate layering. For optimal thermal management, we suggest wearing this over a moisture-wicking base layer and a medium-weight sweatshirt. This approach allows the REPREVE® padding to work efficiently while ensuring ease of movement.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and structural integrity of the R500X, we recommend a domestic machine wash at 40°C. Regular washing is essential to remove dirt that can dull the reflective bands and reduce the garment's safety effectiveness.
Bleaching agents must be avoided entirely, as they will degrade the fluorescent dyes and damage the technical polyester fibres. Similarly, the jacket should not be ironed; the heat from an iron can melt the synthetic ripstop fabric and permanently damage the printed safety bands.
To preserve the loft of the recycled padding and the integrity of the water-repellent finish, do not tumble dry or dry clean this garment. Instead, allow it to drip dry naturally. Proper care ensures that the jacket continues to provide professional protection and maintains its appearance over time.
