Product Overview
The DX4 Hi-Vis 4-in-1 Jacket represents a pinnacle of versatility in modern safety apparel. Engineered with a fresh, dynamic design, this garment adapts to the unpredictable British weather by offering four distinct ways to be worn. Whether you require the full protection of the insulated outer shell or the lighter profile of the inner jacket, this system ensures you remain visible and protected without sacrificing comfort. The combination of superior stretch fabric and breathable membranes makes it a highly functional choice for those who demand performance from their workwear.
Key Features
- Versatile 4-in-1 Design: Allows the wearer to adapt to changing environmental conditions by adding or removing layers as required.
- Hi-Vis-Tex Pro Reflective Tape: This heat-applied segmented tape offers increased flexibility and breathability while ensuring you remain visible in low-light conditions.
- Texpel Splash Finish: A water-resistant treatment that causes water to bead away from the fabric surface, keeping the garment cleaner and drier for longer.
- Articulated Sleeves: Specially designed to provide a better fit and allow for a natural range of movement, reducing fatigue during physical tasks.
- Portwest Extreme Fabric: A two-layer polyester stretch fabric that provides an exceptional waterproof and breathable barrier against the elements.
Design & Performance
The performance of the DX466 is rooted in its technical fabric composition. The outer jacket utilizes Portwest Extreme, a high-performance waterproof and breathable stretch fabric that allows for moisture vapour to escape while preventing rain penetration. This is paired with a lightweight polyester mesh lining to enhance airflow. The inner jacket features a sturdy ripstop pongee fabric, known for its resistance to tearing and ripping, and is filled with substantial polyester insulation to retain body heat during colder shifts. This combination of a flexible outer shell and a durable inner layer ensures the jacket is both resilient and comfortable for all-day wear.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The DX4 4-in-1 Jacket is an excellent canvas for your corporate branding. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding company logos or staff names to the chest area, providing a refined and durable professional appearance that withstands the rigours of daily work. For larger, more prominent branding across the back, our high-quality heat-seal printing is an ideal choice, offering crisp detail and vibrant colours. Our expert team in Telford, drawing on nearly half a century of experience since 1976, will ensure your branding is applied with technical precision to maintain the garment's integrity.
Use Cases
This jacket is specifically designed for professionals working in demanding environments such as construction, civil engineering, and roadside assistance. Its high-visibility orange and black colour scheme makes it suitable for sectors requiring adherence to safety standards, while its multi-way functionality makes it equally useful for logistics and site management where workers frequently move between indoor and outdoor environments.

Practical Advice
To maximise the benefits of the 4-in-1 system, we recommend using the inner jacket as a standalone piece during dry, cool mornings and attaching it to the outer shell when heavy rain or wind is forecast. The stretch nature of the fabric allows for easy layering over sweatshirts or base layers without restricting movement. When selecting your size, consider the garments you will typically wear underneath to ensure a comfortable fit.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and technical performance of this jacket, it is essential to follow the care instructions precisely. We recommend a mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the waterproof membrane and the heat-applied reflective tape, potentially compromising your safety on site.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Bleaching agents will degrade the fluorescent dyes in the fabric, leading to a loss of visibility that could render the jacket non-compliant with safety standards. Similarly, the jacket should not be tumble dried; instead, it should be drip-lined dried to prevent heat damage to the synthetic fibres.
Ironing is not permitted as the high heat from an iron will melt the technical fabrics and the reflective tape. Furthermore, this garment should not be dry cleaned. Please note that the high-visibility performance is guaranteed for up to 25 washes; beyond this point, the reflective and fluorescent properties may diminish, and the jacket should be inspected for safety compliance.
