Product Overview

The Regatta Professional Ablaze 3-layer softshell is a technical garment engineered for those who refuse to let the British weather dictate their working day. As autumn transitions into the colder winter months, this jacket provides a sophisticated solution to temperature regulation and moisture protection. Constructed with a three-layer system, it balances thermal efficiency with the breathable performance required for active physical labour.

Key Features

  • Waterproof and Breathable Membrane: The Softshell XPT technology ensures you remain dry during downpours while allowing internal moisture to escape, preventing the discomfort of perspiration buildup.

  • Wind-Resistant Protection: The integrated membrane acts as a barrier against biting winds, maintaining your core temperature in exposed environments.

  • Warm-Backed Lining: The interior fabric is woven with a warm backing, providing immediate comfort and insulation without the need for excessive, bulky layers.

  • Secure Zipped Storage: Equipped with two zipped lower pockets and one zipped chest pocket, ensuring your essential tools and personal items remain secure and accessible.

Design & Performance

The Ablaze jacket is crafted from 100% polyester, chosen for its inherent durability and resistance to the rigours of daily work. The 3-layer membrane fabric is not merely a single sheet but a sophisticated sandwich of performance materials. This substantial fabric provides a sturdy feel that communicates quality and reliability. Because it is a softshell, it offers superior flexibility compared to traditional hardshell jackets, allowing for a full range of movement when reaching or lifting on-site.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

One of the standout attributes of the RG147 is its fully printable outer fabric. While many technical garments struggle with heat-applied transfers, this jacket is specifically designed to accommodate large, bold printed designs on the back or chest, making it an excellent choice for company branding. For a more refined and authoritative appearance, our Telford-based team can apply high-quality embroidery. Since 1976, MyWorkwear has specialised in these customisation techniques, ensuring your logo is applied with precision to maintain the garment's professional integrity.

Use Cases

This softshell is ideally suited for site managers, delivery drivers, and tradespeople who require a smart, unified appearance while working outdoors. Its sleek profile also makes it a popular choice for corporate events or as a versatile piece of uniform for staff moving between the office and the warehouse.

Practical Advice

The Ablaze jacket is available in a broad size range from S to 3XL. Given its medium-to-heavy fabric weight and warm backing, it functions excellently as a standalone outer layer over a polo shirt or base layer. If you intend to wear heavy knitwear underneath, you may wish to consider the chest measurements provided to ensure a comfortable fit.

Caring for your product

To preserve the technical performance of the Softshell XPT membrane, we recommend a cool machine wash using Regatta Isotex cleaner or a pure, mild soap. Standard detergents can sometimes contain chemicals that break down the water-repellent coatings over time.

Do not use bleach, as this will compromise the fabric fibres and lead to premature wear and colour loss. It is essential that you do not tumble dry this garment; high heat can cause the layers of the membrane to delaminate, effectively ruining the jacket's waterproof capabilities.

Similarly, do not iron or dry clean the jacket. The synthetic nature of the polyester and the internal membrane are sensitive to high temperatures and harsh dry-cleaning solvents, which can melt or degrade the technical components of the fabric.
