Product Overview
The WX2 Eco Stretch Shorts represent a thoughtful evolution in workwear, offering the functional DNA of the popular WX2 Stretch trousers in a format better suited for warmer environments. Engineered for the modern professional who demands both performance and environmental responsibility, these shorts are constructed from a blend of recycled polyester and elastane. This choice of materials ensures the garment supports a circular economy while providing the high levels of flexibility required for active workdays.
Key Features
- Four-Pocket Configuration: Provides ample storage for essential tools and personal items without adding unnecessary bulk to your silhouette.
- Side Elastication: Ensures a secure and comfortable fit at the waist, accommodating movement throughout the day without the need for constant adjustment.
- Four-Way Stretch Fabric: Allows for a full range of motion, which is essential when squatting, climbing, or navigating tight spaces on site.
- Eco-Friendly Construction: Made with recycled polyester, reducing the environmental footprint of your workwear without compromising on garment strength.
Design & Performance
The primary fabric is Kingsmill Polyester Stretch Eco, a sophisticated textile comprising 93% recycled polyester and 7% elastane. This composition creates a lightweight yet resilient fabric that moves with the wearer rather than resisting them. The integration of 4-way stretch technology is particularly beneficial in a work short, as it prevents the fabric from binding or pulling during strenuous activity.
Despite their lightweight feel, the shorts are designed for durability. The recycled polyester provides excellent abrasion resistance, ensuring the garment remains a staple of your work wardrobe through repeated wear and washing cycles.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The smooth surface of the Kingsmill fabric makes these shorts an excellent canvas for customisation. For a professional corporate identity, we recommend embroidery. It provides a durable, high-quality finish that withstands the rigours of the workplace and frequent laundering.
If your branding requires larger, more vibrant graphics or high-visibility messaging, our precision printing service is an ideal alternative. All customisation is carried out in-house at our Telford facility by a team that has been perfecting these techniques since 1976. This ensures your logo is applied with the technical expertise required for a long-lasting, professional appearance.
Use Cases
These shorts are specifically designed for tradespeople working in high-temperature environments or indoor settings where temperature control is a challenge. They are equally suited for logistics personnel, maintenance engineers, and construction workers who require a garment that offers mobility and storage without the weight of full-length trousers.
Why MyWorkwear
Since our establishment in 1976, MyWorkwear has focused on providing technical solutions rather than just clothing. Based in Telford, our expertise in fabric performance and customisation allows us to support UK businesses with workwear that is fit for purpose. We understand the specific demands of the British workforce and select our product range based on durability, comfort, and customisation potential.
Practical Advice
The inclusion of side elastication provides a flexible fit, but we recommend selecting your standard waist size for the best performance. These shorts pair effectively with moisture-wicking polo shirts or lightweight t-shirts to maintain breathability during peak summer months.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and the stretch properties of the elastane, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the synthetic fibres and cause the garment to lose its shape over time.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the recycled polyester fibres and cause significant discolouration. We also advise against tumble drying; the fabric is designed to be quick-drying, and excessive heat from a dryer can impair the 4-way stretch functionality.
If ironing is required, use a low setting not exceeding 110°C. This prevents the fabric from glazing or melting. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process can be too harsh for the eco-conscious fabric blend.
