Product Overview

The DX4 Trade Shorts are a masterclass in modern workwear engineering, combining a sleek, tonal aesthetic with high-performance functionality. Designed for the professional who requires unrestricted movement without sacrificing durability, these shorts integrate smart design with technical fabrics to handle the rigours of a demanding workday. The sophisticated 'All Black' colourway ensures a professional appearance remains consistent throughout the life of the garment.

Key Features

  • Strategically Placed 4X Stretch Fabric: This allows for exceptional freedom of movement, ensuring the fabric moves with you rather than against you during active tasks.
  • High-Rise Back Waistband: Designed to provide additional coverage and comfort, particularly when bending or kneeling, preventing the garment from riding down.
  • CorePro™ Reinforcement Panels: Engineered for areas prone to high wear, these panels offer superior abrasion resistance, having been tested to 100,000 rubs.
  • Triple-Stitched Seams: Reinforced stitching throughout the garment ensures long-term durability and prevents seam failure under physical stress.
  • Side Elastication: Provides a flexible fit around the waist, accommodating movement and ensuring comfort during long shifts.

Design & Performance

The primary construction of the DX420 features Titanmill Pro Stretch, a medium-weight fabric blend of 93% Polyester and 7% Elastane. This combination provides the necessary tensile strength for a work environment while offering the flexibility required for agile movement. It is a sturdy yet breathable garment that manages the demands of physical labour with ease.

The performance is further enhanced by the inclusion of CorePro™ panels. Composed of 87% Nylon and 13% Elastane, these sections are precision-engineered to provide the highest levels of abrasion resistance. By targeting high-wear zones with this hardwearing material, the longevity of the shorts is significantly increased, making them a reliable choice for the toughest environments.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The DX4 Trade Shorts are an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery. Given the technical nature of the stretch fabric, embroidery is particularly well-suited for adding authoritative branding, such as company logos or staff names, to the pockets or waistband areas. This provides a long-lasting, sophisticated finish that withstands regular laundering.

For those requiring larger, more vibrant graphics, our high-quality printing process is an ideal alternative. Whether you choose embroidery for its classic professional appearance or print for its bold impact, all customisation is handled in-house by our expert team in Telford. MyWorkwear has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring your team looks the part.

Use Cases

These shorts are specifically designed for tradespeople operating in environments where mobility and heat management are priorities. They are an essential choice for carpenters, electricians, and site managers who require a professional appearance but need the functional benefits of reinforced, stretchable workwear during the warmer months.

Operating from our specialized facility in Telford, we combine heritage expertise with modern machinery to ensure every garment—whether plain or customised—meets our rigorous standards for quality and durability.

Practical Advice

The inclusion of side elastication means these shorts offer a forgiving fit, but we recommend selecting your standard waist size for the best performance of the high-rise back. For a complete professional uniform, these shorts pair perfectly with our moisture-wicking polo shirts or lightweight work hoodies.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical performance and professional finish of your shorts, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature may damage the elastane fibres, leading to a loss of the 4X stretch properties over time.

Bleaching agents must be avoided. The use of chlorine or other harsh chemicals will degrade the polyester blend and cause the 'All Black' colour to fade prematurely, compromising the garment's appearance.

These shorts should not be tumble dried. High heat can warp the CorePro™ panels and shrink the main body fabric. Instead, we recommend drip line drying in the shade to protect the fibres from UV damage and ensure the garment retains its original shape.

If ironing is necessary, use a maximum temperature of 150°C. This is sufficient to remove creases without risking damage to the synthetic materials. Finally, do not dry clean this product, as the industrial solvents used can be too aggressive for the specialised stretch fabrics.
