Product Overview
The Two Tone Pilot Jacket is a versatile and technically proficient piece of outerwear, specifically engineered for professionals who require adaptability in their work clothing. This garment functions as a comprehensive weather-protection system, featuring a contemporary black and grey aesthetic that maintains a professional appearance in demanding environments. Its multi-functional design allows it to transition through seasons, serving as a fully insulated jacket or a lightweight bodywarmer depending on the requirements of the task at hand.
Key Features
- Zip-out sleeves provide the flexibility to convert the jacket into a bodywarmer, allowing for increased arm mobility and temperature regulation during physical activity.
- A removable fur liner and collar allow the wearer to customise the level of insulation, ensuring comfort in both sub-zero temperatures and milder conditions.
- Multiple secure pockets offer organised storage for mobile devices, tools, and documentation, ensuring essential equipment is always within reach.
- The shower-proof finish on the outer fabric provides a crucial barrier against light rain and moisture, keeping the internal layers dry and maintaining thermal efficiency.
Design & Performance
The shell of this jacket is constructed from a balanced blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester. This composition ensures the garment remains breathable during periods of high exertion while providing the structural resilience required for industrial work. The fabric feels substantial and protective, offering a medium-to-heavy weight feel that instils confidence in its durability.
Internally, the jacket utilizes a polyester wadding for consistent heat retention. When combined with the high-pile removable fur lining, the garment creates an effective thermal pocket. The inclusion of a shower-proof finish further enhances its performance, preventing the cotton-rich outer from becoming waterlogged in damp conditions.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This pilot jacket is designed to accommodate both print and embroidery, making it an ideal choice for corporate branding. The sturdy fabric blend provides a stable foundation for high-stitch-count embroidery, which we recommend for a professional finish on the chest or collar. This method is particularly resilient and will withstand the frequent cleaning cycles required of heavy-duty workwear.
For larger branding requirements on the rear of the jacket, our technical print processes offer a sharp, high-contrast result that ensures your company logo is clearly visible from a distance. Our experienced team in Telford, who have been specialising in customisation since 1976, will ensure that whichever method you choose, the branding is applied with technical precision.
Use Cases
This jacket is an excellent choice for site managers, logistics personnel, and tradespeople who move between outdoor environments and indoor facilities. Its modular design makes it particularly useful for those working in the UK's varied climate, where the ability to remove sleeves or linings can significantly improve comfort throughout the working day.

Practical Advice
As this jacket includes a removable fur lining and wadding, we recommend considering the layers you typically wear underneath. For those who prefer a more tailored fit when the lining is removed, the standard sizing is appropriate, but if you intend to wear heavy knitwear or sweatshirts underneath the fully-lined 4XL jacket, the generous cut will provide the necessary room for movement.
Caring for your product
To preserve the protective qualities of the shower-proof finish and the integrity of the synthetic insulation, we recommend a domestic wash at no higher than 40°C. Washing at higher temperatures can cause the technical fibres to break down prematurely and may affect the adhesion of printed branding.
Bleaching must be avoided at all costs, as it will damage the fabric fibres and lead to significant fading of the black and grey colour panels. To maintain the shape of the garment and the texture of the fur lining, do not tumble dry; instead, allow the jacket to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources.
If ironing is required to maintain a crisp appearance, use a setting no higher than 150°C. The garment is also suitable for professional dry cleaning using standard processes, which can be beneficial for removing oil-based stains common in industrial settings.
