Product Overview
The C852 Standard Coat is a technical garment engineered for those working in precision-focused environments such as laboratories, engineering workshops, and the food industry. This medium-weight coat offers a clean, professional silhouette while ensuring the wearer remains protected and comfortable throughout the working day. Constructed from high-performance Kingsmill fabric, it is designed to withstand the daily rigours of industrial use without compromising on presentation.
Key Features
- Concealed Stud Front: The hidden stud fastening provides a streamlined appearance and reduces the risk of snagging or scratching delicate surfaces while you work.
- Three-Pocket Storage: Featuring a single chest pocket and two lower patch pockets, this coat offers ample space for essential tools and personal items, keeping them close at hand.
- Kingsmill Polycotton Fabric: The blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton delivers the breathability of cotton with the superior durability and crease-resistance of polyester.
- Pre-Shrunk Construction: The fabric has been fully pre-shrunk to ensure the garment maintains its original shape and fit even after repeated laundering.
- Excellent Dye Retention: High-quality dyes ensure the Navy colour remains deep and vibrant, preventing the faded look that often plagues lesser-quality workwear.
Design & Performance
At the heart of this garment is the Kingsmill Polycotton fabric. This material is specifically chosen for its high-performance characteristics in demanding roles. Because it is a medium-weight fabric, it provides a substantial barrier against dust and splashes without becoming overly heavy or restrictive. The technical balance of the polyester-cotton blend ensures that the coat is resilient enough for industrial laundry while remaining soft enough for all-day comfort.
The garment is designed with a focus on longevity. Reinforced seams and the pre-shrinking process mean that the dimensions of the coat stay consistent, which is vital for maintaining a professional appearance in client-facing or clinical settings. It is a piece of equipment that works as hard as you do, wash after wash.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This Standard Coat is an ideal canvas for customisation, allowing you to align your team's appearance with your corporate identity. For a traditional and highly professional finish, we recommend embroidery. This method is particularly effective for company logos or staff names, providing a durable, textured result that withstands frequent high-temperature washing.
If your branding requires larger, more vibrant graphics, our print services are an excellent alternative. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting these techniques since 1976. Whether you choose the tactile finish of embroidery or the bold impact of print, we ensure your branding is applied with technical precision.
Use Cases
This garment is highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of professional sectors. It is an essential choice for laboratory technicians, engineers, and workshop staff who require a protective outer layer. Additionally, its design meets the requirements of the food industry, making it a reliable option for butchers, bakers, and catering professionals who need to maintain strict hygiene standards while looking smart.

Practical Advice
This coat is designed with a standard fit to allow for ease of movement. When selecting your size, consider what you will be wearing underneath; if you frequently wear heavier knitwear or sweatshirts, you may wish to account for that extra layer. The 4XL sizing provides a generous cut for those requiring more room through the shoulders and chest.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your coat, it is essential to follow the recommended care instructions. We recommend a maximum wash temperature of 60°C using a mild process. This temperature is sufficient to remove stubborn stains and maintain hygiene without damaging the technical fibres of the Kingsmill fabric.
Do not use bleach on this garment. Bleaching agents will compromise the polyester-cotton blend and lead to significant colour loss, which will undermine the professional appearance of your branding. For drying, a normal tumble dry cycle is acceptable, though drip line drying is recommended to further extend the life of the garment and reduce the need for heavy ironing.
When ironing, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C. This ensures the fabric is crisp and sharp without risking heat damage to the synthetic fibres. Please note that this garment is not suitable for dry cleaning, as the chemicals used in that process can degrade the fabric's finish over time.
