Product Overview
The Sealtex Ultra Hi-Vis Rain Jacket is a well-engineered garment designed for professionals who refuse to let the British weather dictate their work schedule. Constructed from a unique, lightweight fabric, this jacket provides an exceptional balance of weather protection and comfort. Unlike standard waterproofs that can feel restrictive or stifling, the Sealtex Ultra material is engineered to be windproof and waterproof while maintaining a high level of breathability, ensuring you remain dry from both the elements and internal moisture build-up.
Key Features
- Sealtex Ultra Fabric: A 100% Polyester Tricot Knit with a PU coating that offers superior flexibility and protection against heavy rain.
- Full Waterproof Protection: The fabric and construction methods ensure water cannot penetrate, keeping the wearer dry in challenging environments.
- Breathable Construction: The unique knit allows for moisture vapour to escape, which is essential for maintaining comfort during physically demanding tasks.
- Windproof Shield: The material acts as an effective barrier against biting winds, helping to maintain body temperature in exposed locations.
- High-Visibility Yellow: Designed to ensure you remain seen in low-light conditions or hazardous work zones, meeting essential safety requirements.
Design & Performance
The performance of this jacket lies in its specialised tricot knit composition. The 100% polyester base provides a durable foundation, while the PU coating delivers the technical waterproof barrier. Because it is a knit rather than a traditional weave, the fabric possesses a natural stretch that allows for a greater range of movement—a critical factor for tradespeople who are constantly reaching, lifting, or moving on-site.
Despite its robust protective qualities, the jacket remains a lightweight garment. This reduces wearer fatigue over long shifts and makes it far more comfortable than the heavy, cumbersome oilskins of the past. The smooth finish also ensures that dirt and grime are less likely to become embedded in the fibres, helping the garment maintain its professional appearance over time.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Sealtex Ultra surface is an excellent canvas for customisation. For those seeking a professional appearance, embroidery is highly recommended for company logos or staff names on the chest area. It provides a textured, premium finish that conveys authority and reliability.
Alternatively, for large-scale branding or safety messaging on the back, heat-applied print is an ideal choice. Printing allows for bold, sharp graphics that remain visible even at a distance. Our in-house team at MyWorkwear has been perfecting these techniques in Telford since 1976, ensuring that your branding is applied with the same precision used in the garment's manufacture.
Use Cases
This jacket is specifically designed for those working in sectors such as construction, logistics, roadside assistance, and site management. It is particularly suited for outdoor workers who require high visibility combined with reliable protection against rain and wind without the bulk of a heavy winter coat.

Practical Advice
As this is a lightweight fabric, it serves as an excellent outer shell. For colder months, we recommend layering it over a medium-weight fleece or sweatshirt. This allows for better temperature regulation—you can strip back layers as you warm up while still maintaining your waterproof and high-visibility protection.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance characteristics of the PU coating and the integrity of your custom branding, it is essential to follow the care instructions precisely. Maintaining the garment correctly will ensure it continues to protect you and your professional image.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Higher temperatures or harsh cycles can degrade the PU coating and cause custom logos to peel or fade prematurely. Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the high-visibility pigments and weaken the polyester fibres.
The jacket should be drip line dried only. Never tumble dry this garment, as the heat from a dryer can cause the PU coating to melt or crack, rendering the jacket no longer waterproof. Similarly, do not iron the garment, as direct heat will cause immediate damage to the synthetic fabric and any applied prints.
Avoid dry cleaning, as the chemicals used in the process are too abrasive for the Sealtex Ultra material. Finally, please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes to ensure it continues to meet safety standards for visibility.
