Product Overview
The Sealtex Essential Rainsuit is a comprehensive two-piece solution designed for professionals who cannot afford to let the weather dictate their schedule. This set, comprising both a jacket and trousers, is part of the established Sealtex range, engineered to provide complete protection against the elements. By providing a coordinated set, it ensures full-body coverage, keeping you dry from head to toe in challenging conditions.
Constructed with a focus on reliability, this suit utilises specialised fabric technology and construction methods that prioritise water resistance above all else. It is a substantial and sturdy piece of protective equipment, designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor work while remaining practical enough to be packed away in its own dedicated retail bag when not in use.
Key Features
- Complete Two-Piece Set: Includes both a jacket and trousers, ensuring you have matched protection and a uniform professional appearance.
- High Frequency Welded Seams: This construction method fuses the fabric together rather than piercing it with needles, eliminating the risk of water ingress through stitch holes.
- Waterproof Certification: Fully certified to EN 343 Class 4:1 X standards, providing peace of mind that the garment meets rigorous safety and performance benchmarks for rain protection.
- Convenient Packaging: Supplied in a dedicated bag, making it simple to store in a vehicle or locker until the weather turns.
Design & Performance
The performance of the Sealtex Essential Rainsuit is rooted in its material composition. The shell is crafted from a durable Polyester Tricot base, coated with a substantial blend of PVC and PU. This creates a formidable barrier against wind and rain. Unlike lighter alternatives that may wet-out over time, this heavy-duty coating ensures water beads and rolls off the surface.
The design is focused on utility. By using high-frequency welding for the seams, the suit remains entirely waterproof even at the points of highest stress. This technique is superior to traditional taped seams for long-term durability in wet environments. The fit is generous enough to be worn over existing work trousers and base layers, providing a versatile outer shell that does not restrict movement.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
While rainwear presents unique challenges for customisation, the Sealtex Essential Rainsuit can be tailored to reflect your business identity. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding smaller, detailed company logos or staff names to the chest area, providing a permanent and professional finish that elevates your corporate image.
For larger, more impactful branding—such as company names across the back of the jacket—print is the preferred method. Printing allows for bold designs that remain highly visible even in low-light conditions. Our expert team in Telford has been handling these technical requirements since 1976, ensuring that the application of your logo does not compromise the garment's waterproof integrity.
Use Cases
This suit is ideally suited for anyone working in exposed environments. It is a staple for construction workers, site managers, and logistics personnel who spend extended periods outdoors. It is equally valuable for agricultural workers or maintenance teams who require reliable, heavy-duty protection that can be quickly deployed when a downpour begins.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, remember that this rainsuit is intended as an outer layer. It is designed to fit over your standard work clothing. If you intend to wear heavy fleeces or thermal layers underneath during winter, ensure you choose a size that allows for this additional volume without restricting your range of motion.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance waterproof coating of your rainsuit, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so can result in the breakdown of the PVC/PU layer, significantly reducing the lifespan of the garment.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a normal process. Excessively hot water can damage the synthetic coating and the welded seams, leading to potential leaks.
Do not use bleach on this garment. Harsh chemicals will strip the waterproof finish and may cause the fabric to become brittle or discoloured, compromising its protective qualities.
The suit should be drip-line dried only. Never tumble dry or iron this product, as the high heat will melt or warp the PVC/PU coating, rendering the suit unusable. Once washed, simply hang it up and allow it to dry naturally. Do not dry clean, as the solvents used in that process are too aggressive for this specialised fabric.
