Product Overview
The Sealtex Classic Bib and Brace is a masterclass in functional outdoor protection, designed to provide a comprehensive barrier against the elements without the bulk of traditional heavy-duty waterproofs. Engineered to be worn over standard work trousers, this garment offers a generous fit that facilitates a full range of movement, ensuring that productivity remains high even when the weather is at its worst. By utilising high-quality synthetic fabrics and specialised construction techniques, it serves as an essential layer for any professional operating in exposed environments.
Key Features
- Welded Seams: Unlike stitched seams that can allow water to seep through needle holes, these seams are ultrasonically welded to create a completely watertight bond, ensuring wind and rain are effectively locked out.
- Sealtex Classic Fabric: This 100% Polyester Tricot material is PU coated to provide a flexible yet robust shield against moisture and wind.
- High Waterproof Rating: Certified to EN 343 Class 4:1 X, providing a water penetration resistance of 5,000mm for reliable performance in persistent rain.
- Over-Garment Design: The lightweight construction is specifically tailored to fit comfortably over existing work clothes, allowing for quick transitions when weather conditions change.
Design & Performance
Performance is at the heart of the Sealtex Classic range. The fabric is a lightweight polyester tricot, which provides a smooth internal finish that glides over base layers, while the external Polyurethane (PU) coating acts as a resilient shield. The choice of a bib and brace silhouette is deliberate, offering superior protection to the lower back and chest areas compared to standard trousers. This design prevents the 'gap' that often occurs between a jacket and trousers when bending or reaching, which is particularly beneficial for active tradespeople. The windproof properties of the PU coating also help to maintain core body temperature by preventing cold air from stripping away heat.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your clothing is a walking advertisement for your business. This bib and brace can be customised with your company branding by our expert team in Telford. We offer high-quality embroidery for a refined, professional appearance on the chest or legs, which is ideal for company logos and staff names. For those requiring larger, more vibrant graphics that need to stand out from a distance, our heat-applied printing process is an excellent alternative. Our team, which has been refining these processes since 1976, will ensure your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the professional standard your business deserves.
Use Cases
This garment is perfectly suited for professionals in the agricultural, construction, and landscaping sectors where exposure to wet conditions is a daily reality. It is also an excellent choice for utility workers or those in the marine industry who require lightweight, packable protection that can be deployed at a moment's notice. The navy colour provides a professional aesthetic that hides dirt well, making it suitable for high-intensity physical work.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the layers you intend to wear underneath. As this is designed to be an over-garment, it already features a slightly more generous cut, but if you frequently wear heavy-weight winter trousers or multiple base layers, ensure you have sufficient room for movement. For the best weather protection, we recommend pairing this bib and brace with a compatible waterproof jacket to ensure a complete moisture barrier.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance waterproof coating and the integrity of your custom branding, proper maintenance is essential. We recommend a mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Using a mild process helps to prevent the PU coating from degrading prematurely, ensuring the garment remains waterproof for its intended lifespan.
Avoid the use of bleach at all costs, as these harsh chemicals will break down the polyester fibres and strip the protective coating from the fabric. Similarly, do not dry clean the garment, as the solvents used in that process are too aggressive for the PU finish.
Drip line drying is the only recommended drying method. You must not tumble dry this product, as the high heat and mechanical action of a dryer can cause the PU coating to peel or delaminate. Finally, do not iron the garment; the heat of an iron will melt the synthetic fabric and destroy the waterproof barrier instantly.
