Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Work Hi-Vis Class 1 FR Holster Trousers are a meticulously engineered solution for professionals operating in environments where flame resistance and high visibility are paramount. These trousers are constructed from a substantial, medium-weight Modaflame fabric that balances rigorous safety requirements with the physical demands of active work.

By incorporating an innovative two-way stretch fabric, these trousers address the common issue of restricted movement in protective apparel. The inclusion of multi-functional holster pockets, which can be zipped off when not required, offers a level of versatility that allows the wearer to adapt to the specific needs of their task while maintaining a professional appearance.

Key Features
  • Two-way stretch fabric provides a superior range of motion, ensuring that the wearer is not hindered during bending or reaching tasks.
  • Zip-removable holster pockets offer versatile storage for tools and components, with the option to remove them for specific jobs or for easier laundering.
  • Top-loading kneepad pockets allow for the quick and easy insertion of knee protection, which is essential for those working at ground level for extended periods.
  • FR reinforcement fabric is applied at key abrasion points, significantly increasing the durability and service life of the trousers in harsh conditions.
  • A dedicated thigh pocket provides secure and accessible storage for mobile phones, keys, and small hand tools, keeping essentials within reach at all times.

Design & Performance

The core of this garment's performance lies in the Modaflame Work Stretch fabric. This blend of modacrylic, cotton, and elastane is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protective qualities are built into the fibre itself and will not wash out over time. The integrated 1% carbon fibre provides permanent anti-static protection, which is a critical requirement in many industrial settings.

The design effectively combines safety and ergonomics. The medium-weight shell fabric provides a sturdy and protective feel, while the stretch panels ensure that the garment moves with the body rather than against it. The high-visibility yellow and black contrast design provides Class 1 compliance, ensuring the wearer remains clearly visible in low-light environments.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The PW3 Modaflame trousers are well-suited for professional customisation, supporting both print and embroidery. For a truly professional and enduring look, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names. The stable, high-quality weave of the Modaflame fabric ensures that the embroidery remains crisp and maintains its integrity through frequent wear.

For larger, more prominent branding, our printing service offers a clear and vibrant alternative. Our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting these techniques since 1976, manages the entire process to ensure your branding is applied precisely without compromising the technical properties of the garment.

Use Cases

These trousers are designed for professionals in sectors such as power generation, utilities, and petrochemicals where Class 1 high-visibility and flame-resistant protection are mandatory. They are an excellent choice for maintenance engineers, technicians, and site personnel who require a durable, multi-norm trouser that supports high levels of physical activity.

Practical Advice

To ensure the best performance from the stretch panels, we recommend selecting a size that allows for a comfortable fit without excessive tension on the fabric. If you are working in colder climates, the cut of these trousers allows for the inclusion of a lightweight thermal base layer without restricting the wearer's mobility.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the protective characteristics and high-visibility of this garment requires adherence to specific care protocols. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the elastic fibres in the stretch panels and lead to premature degradation of the high-visibility components.

It is vital to avoid the use of bleach during the laundering process. Bleach will cause significant damage to the synthetic fibres and can strip away the anti-static properties. Furthermore, dry cleaning should be avoided as the chemicals used can interfere with the inherent flame-resistant properties of the Modaflame fabric.

For drying, a low tumble dry setting is recommended. High heat in a dryer can cause the garment to shrink and negatively affect the stretch performance. If ironing is required, use a maximum heat setting of 150°C to ensure the fabric remains smooth and professional without heat-damaging the modacrylic fibres.
