Product Overview
The Sealtex Flame Hi-Vis FR Jacket is a technically advanced outer layer designed for professionals who require a combination of high-visibility, flame resistance, and protection against the elements. Constructed from specialised Sealtex Flame HV fabric, this jacket is exceptionally lightweight while remaining windproof and waterproof. It is specifically engineered to provide a barrier against adverse weather and chemical hazards without the restrictive weight often associated with flame-resistant outerwear.
Key Features
- Flame Resistant, PU Coated Fabric: The 100% polyester fabric is treated with a flame-resistant polyurethane coating, offering essential protection against heat and flame while keeping the wearer dry.
- Heat Sealed EN ISO 20471 Reflective Tape: The reflective strips are heat-sealed rather than stitched, ensuring there are no needle holes that could allow water to ingress, thereby maintaining the garment's waterproof integrity.
- Studded Storm Flap: This feature provides an extra layer of protection over the front fastening, preventing wind and rain from penetrating the jacket in harsh conditions.
- Adjustable Cuffs: The cuffs can be tightened to ensure a secure fit, which is vital for preventing water from running up the arms and for integrating effectively with protective gloves.
- Front Flapped Pockets: Designed to keep essential tools and personal items secure and shielded from moisture during heavy downpours.
Design & Performance
The design of this jacket focuses on the high-performance properties of the Sealtex Flame HV fabric. This material is not only durable but also possesses a degree of stretch, which is a significant advantage for those performing physical tasks in demanding environments. The PU coating provides a robust chemical-resistant barrier, making it a versatile choice for hazardous sites. Despite its protective capabilities, the fabric remains flexible, ensuring that the wearer maintains a full range of motion throughout the working day.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your brand identity is as important as your safety. This jacket is suitable for both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding a professional, long-lasting company logo or staff name, providing a finish that withstands regular laundering. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing process ensures your design is bold and visible without compromising the technical properties of the fabric. Our expert team in Telford, with heritage dating back to 1976, handles all customisation in-house to ensure the highest standards are met.
Use Cases
This jacket is an essential requirement for workers in the utilities, petrochemical, and rail industries, or any environment where EN ISO 20471 visibility and flame resistance are mandatory. Its chemical-resistant properties also make it suitable for laboratory or industrial cleaning applications where exposure to splashes is a risk.

Practical Advice
As this is a lightweight waterproof shell, it is best utilised as the outer layer of a comprehensive layering system. We suggest wearing flame-resistant base layers underneath to ensure full protection. When selecting your size, please account for the fact that you will likely be wearing several layers beneath it to stay warm in colder climates.
Caring for your product
Proper maintenance is critical to ensure the jacket continues to provide the certified levels of protection for which it was designed.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the PU coating and reduce the effectiveness of the flame-resistant treatment. Ensure all studs and fastenings are closed before washing to prevent mechanical damage to the fabric.
Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will compromise the chemical structure of the flame-resistant coating and cause the high-visibility orange pigment to fade, rendering the garment unsafe for use.
This garment should not be tumble dried, ironed, or dry cleaned. High heat from a dryer or iron will melt the PU coating and the heat-sealed reflective tape. Instead, the jacket should be drip-line dried to maintain its shape and technical performance.
