Product Overview
The Chef's Women's Rachel Trousers are a meticulously designed garment specifically tailored for the female professional within the food and hospitality sectors. Balancing comfort with a functional silhouette, these trousers offer a reliable solution for the demanding environments of commercial kitchens, bakeries, and catering operations. The design focuses on ease of movement and a secure fit, ensuring that the wearer can maintain peak performance throughout long shifts.
Key Features
- A half-elasticated back provides a flexible and snug fit, allowing the garment to move with the body rather than resisting it.
- The combination of a button and zipped fly ensures a secure and traditional fastening that stays in place during rigorous activity.
- Integrated side pockets and a rear patch pocket offer practical storage for essential items required on the job.
- Constructed from Kingsmill Polycotton, the fabric is designed to withstand the daily pressures of the food industry while remaining comfortable against the skin.
Design & Performance
The Rachel Trousers are engineered from Kingsmill fabric, a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This specific composition is chosen for its superior performance characteristics: the polyester provides exceptional durability and crease resistance, while the cotton ensures the garment remains breathable in high-temperature kitchen environments. Because the material is fully pre-shrunk and features superior dye retention, these trousers will maintain their deep black colour and precise fit even after numerous high-temperature industrial wash cycles.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
To establish a cohesive brand identity, these trousers can be customised with your business branding. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional and sophisticated finish, ideal for placing company names or logos on the pocket areas. For larger, more vibrant branding, our high-quality printing services offer an excellent alternative. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on expertise we have refined since 1976.
Use Cases
These trousers are highly versatile and serve as a core component of the uniform for chefs, bakers, and butchers. They are also perfectly suited for front-of-house staff in cafes or bistros where a clean, professional appearance must be balanced with the practicality of catering work. Their understated black design ensures they fit seamlessly into most professional dress codes within the hospitality industry.

Practical Advice
The lightweight nature of the Kingsmill fabric makes these trousers excellent for layering during colder months while remaining cool enough for summer use or high-heat environments. Due to the half-elasticated waistband, these trousers offer a forgiving fit; however, we recommend ensuring the waist size is chosen carefully to maintain the clean lines of the contemporary style.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your trousers, it is essential to follow the correct laundering procedures. A maximum wash temperature of 60°C is recommended to effectively remove oils and food residues common in catering environments while ensuring hygiene standards are met.
Bleaching agents should be avoided at all costs, as they will degrade the polyester fibres and strip the fabric of its superior dye retention, leading to premature fading. When drying, use a low tumble dry setting to prevent excessive mechanical wear on the seams.
If ironing is required to maintain a crisp appearance, do not exceed 150°C. For those requiring a professional finish, the garment is also suitable for dry cleaning using standard processes such as Tetrachloroethene.
