Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Rain+ Hi-Vis Multi-Norm FR Winter Jacket is a sophisticated piece of technical outerwear designed for environments where safety is non-negotiable. Engineered to provide multi-standard protection, this jacket shields the wearer from flame hazards, chemical splashes, and inclement weather, all while maintaining a high ARC rating for electric arc protection. It blends contemporary styling from the PW3 range with the rugged utility required for demanding industrial roles, ensuring that safety does not come at the expense of a professional appearance.

Key Features

  • Long double-puller side entry pockets are specifically designed to remain accessible even when the wearer is equipped with a safety harness.
  • The removable, helmet-compatible hood features a shaped peak and is fully adjustable, ensuring clear vision and protection in foul weather.
  • HiVisTex Pro Flame reflective tape provides superior visibility in low-light conditions without compromising the garment's flame-resistant integrity.
  • An extended back length offers additional protection from dirt and draughts, which is particularly useful when bending or reaching during manual tasks.
  • Adjustable cuffs ensure a secure fit around the wrists, helping to prevent wind and moisture from entering the sleeves.

Design & Performance

The jacket's performance is driven by the proprietary Modaflame Rain+ HV fabric. This substantial material features a 7mm ripstop weave, providing exceptional durability against tears and abrasions on the job. The fabric composition is a complex blend of 60% Polyester, 21% Modacrylic, 18% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre, finished with a PU coating to ensure it is fully waterproof according to EN343 standards. Inside, a 100% cotton flame-resistant lining and a 100% polyester flame-resistant filling provide essential insulation and thermal protection, making it an ideal choice for winter conditions without the need for excessive layering.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its technical complexity and protective coatings, this jacket is well-suited for professional branding. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a superior finish, ideal for company logos and individual names, as it creates a durable and high-quality appearance that lasts. For larger, more prominent branding across the back, print provides a bold and clear alternative. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, ensuring your branding is applied with care to maintain the garment's protective properties.

Use Cases

This jacket is designed for professionals in the utilities, petrochemical, and rail industries where multi-norm protection is mandatory. It is particularly effective for those working on-site in cold, wet conditions who require a single, sturdy garment that meets multiple safety certifications, including high-visibility and arc flash protection.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, please consider the layering required for winter conditions. The jacket features a contemporary fit, but if you intend to wear heavy mid-layers underneath, you may wish to verify your measurements against our sizing guide. The extended back length is a particular benefit for those who spend a lot of time working at height or in exposed outdoor positions.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the technical integrity of flame-resistant and waterproof fabrics is essential for long-term safety and performance. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can degrade the PU coating and the flame-resistant properties of the fabric.

Do not use bleach, as this will chemically damage the fibres and destroy the protective qualities of the jacket. It is critical that these safety-specific materials are treated with care to ensure they continue to meet their certified standards.

To preserve the life of the HiVisTex Pro tape and the waterproof membrane, this garment must not be tumble dried or ironed. High heat from these processes can cause the reflective materials to peel and the waterproof layers to fail. Instead, allow the jacket to drip dry on a line.

Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the dry cleaning process can be detrimental to the multi-norm protection and fabric finish.
