Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Knit Hi-Vis Class 1 FR Sweatshirt is an essential piece of protective equipment, specifically engineered for professionals working in environments where both heat hazards and low visibility are constant factors. Part of our Flame Resistant Multi-Norm collection, this garment provides a reliable barrier against thermal risks while offering the wearer the tactile comfort of a traditional sweatshirt. By balancing safety requirements with ergonomic design, it ensures that technical protection does not come at the cost of daily mobility.

Key Features
  • Class 1 High Visibility: High-visibility panelling ensures you remain conspicuous in the workplace, providing a critical layer of safety for low-light environments.
  • Flame Resistant Fabric: Built-in flame resistance offers inherent protection for workers exposed to heat, ensuring the garment does not contribute to injury in the event of a thermal incident.
  • Ribbed Collar and Cuffs: The ribbed construction provides a secure and comfortable fit, helping to retain warmth and ensure the sleeves stay in place during manual tasks.
  • Round Neck Design: The classic round neck offers a professional yet non-restrictive fit, making it an ideal choice for layering under heavier jackets or over base layers.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a technical blend of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre, this medium-weight sweatshirt is designed for durability and performance. The modacrylic content provides inherent flame resistance that will not wash out, while the cotton ensures the fabric remains breathable and soft against the skin. The inclusion of carbon fibre provides vital anti-static properties, which is an essential requirement for many high-risk industrial environments. The result is a substantial, well-engineered garment that feels sturdy yet flexible during a long shift.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This sweatshirt is an excellent candidate for customisation, allowing you to maintain a professional appearance while adhering to safety standards. Embroidery is particularly effective on this fabric for adding company logos or individual names, providing a durable and refined finish that stands up to industrial use. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing service can apply bold designs to the back or chest area.

Our in-house customisation team has been operating in Telford since 1976. We understand the technical requirements of flame-resistant garments and ensure that every application of print or embroidery is handled with the expertise necessary to preserve the garment's protective integrity.

Use Cases

This garment is ideally suited for workers in the utilities, energy, and electrical sectors who require protection from heat and static. It is also a practical choice for site supervisors and logistics staff in heavy industry who need a comfortable, high-visibility layer that complies with flame-resistant safety protocols.

Practical Advice

For the best level of protection, we recommend wearing this sweatshirt as part of a complete flame-resistant system. When selecting your size, ensure there is enough room for comfortable movement without the garment being excessively loose, as a correct fit is essential for maintaining safety. This item layers effectively over flame-resistant t-shirts for added thermal regulation.

Caring for your product

To ensure this sweatshirt continues to provide maximum protection and remains visible on-site, it is important to follow the correct care procedures. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature can damage the technical fibres and reduce the garment's lifespan.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will strip the high-visibility pigments from the fabric and can severely compromise the flame-resistant properties of the modacrylic fibres, putting the wearer at risk.

This item must not be tumble dried; instead, it should be line dried. The high heat and mechanical action of a tumble dryer can cause shrinkage and may degrade the anti-static carbon fibres. If ironing is necessary, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 110°C and avoid using steam, as excessive heat can negatively impact the synthetic components of the material.

Do not dry clean this garment, as the chemical solvents used in the process can leave residues that interfere with the flame-resistant performance. Following these instructions will ensure your equipment remains fit for purpose for as long as possible.
