Product Overview
The Painters Bolton Bib and Brace is a masterclass in functional workwear, specifically engineered for the painting and decorating trade. Constructed from a substantial 100% pre-shrunk cotton, this garment provides a reliable barrier against paint spills and splatters, ensuring your personal clothing remains protected. It balances a traditional aesthetic with modern utility, offering a range of specialised pockets designed to keep essential tools within reach while maintaining a professional appearance.
Key Features
Integrated knee pad pockets: These allow for the insertion of protective pads, ensuring comfort and safety when working at floor level or on uneven surfaces.
Zipped bib pocket and large front pouch: These offer secure storage for personal items and larger tools, preventing them from falling out while you are in motion.
Specialised hip and rule pockets: Dedicated compartments for measurement tools ensure you are never searching for your equipment mid-job.
Elasticated back section: This feature allows for a greater range of movement, ensuring the garment moves with you rather than restricting your posture.
Non-corrosive plastic buckles: Durable and lightweight, these fasteners are designed to withstand regular use without the risk of rust or degradation.
Design & Performance
This bib and brace is crafted from substantial Kingsmill Cotton, a fabric renowned for its strength and pilling resistance. The use of long-staple fibres in the manufacturing process creates a smooth, high-quality finish that remains comfortable throughout long shifts. Because the fabric is fully pre-shrunk, it retains its shape and fit even after repeated laundering, which is essential for garments exposed to the heavy soilage common in decorating environments. The white cotton not only meets industry standards but also reflects light, helping to keep the wearer cooler in well-lit internal spaces.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we specialise in transforming standard workwear into a professional uniform. This bib and brace is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery. Embroidery provides a raised, premium finish that is ideal for company logos and names, offering long-lasting durability. For larger, bolder branding across the bib area, our high-quality printing process ensures your design is sharp and highly visible. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on expertise we have cultivated since 1976.
Use Cases
While primarily designed for professional painters and decorators, this garment is equally suited for plasterers, joiners, and DIY enthusiasts. Its comprehensive pocket system and durable cotton construction make it a versatile choice for any trade where full-body protection and tool accessibility are priorities.

Practical Advice
This garment is sized as a 4XL and offers a generous fit designed to be worn over existing clothing. We recommend layering with a lightweight t-shirt or polo shirt during summer months, or a thermal base layer in winter, to maximise comfort while maintaining full protection.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity of the cotton and ensure your branding remains vibrant, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove most trade-related stains without damaging the fabric fibres.
Do not use bleach, as this will weaken the natural cotton fibres and can lead to premature tearing or the fading of any custom embroidery or print. We advise against tumble drying; instead, line dry the garment to maintain its pre-shrunk shape and prevent unnecessary mechanical wear.
If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 150°C to smooth the fabric without scorching. For particularly stubborn stains, the garment can be professionally dry cleaned using tetrachloroethene in a normal process.
