Product Overview
The S817 Painters Trousers are a specialized garment engineered to meet the rigorous demands of the decorating and construction trades. Constructed from substantial Kingsmill Cotton, these trousers offer a functional blend of traditional comfort and modern utility. The design prioritises the needs of the craftsman, featuring a layered pocket system that ensures essential tools and communication devices are always within reach, while the crisp white finish provides the standard professional appearance expected on-site.
Key Features
Comprehensive pocket configuration: Includes a layered thigh pocket specifically designed for mobile phones and pens, alongside hip, side, and rule pockets for organized tool storage.
Integrated knee pad pockets: Facilitates the use of protective inserts to safeguard your joints during prolonged periods of kneeling on hard surfaces.
Elasticated waist: Enhances wearer comfort by providing a flexible fit that moves with the body, preventing restriction during physical tasks.
Dedicated rule pocket: Provides a secure and accessible space for measuring equipment, essential for maintaining precision in your work.
Design & Performance
The performance of these trousers is rooted in the quality of the Kingsmill Cotton fabric. This 100% cotton material is fully pre-shrunk, ensuring that the garment retains its shape and fit even after repeated high-temperature laundering. The use of long staple fibres in the construction process is a deliberate technical choice to provide superior strength and significant resistance to pilling, which maintains the fabric's smooth finish over time.
The fabric weight is substantial, offering the durability required for heavy-duty trade work while benefitting from the natural breathability of pure cotton. This ensures the wearer remains comfortable throughout long shifts without compromising the structural integrity of the trousers in high-wear areas.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
To achieve a professional appearance that reflects your business's standards, these trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is particularly effective for adding company logos or names to the pockets or thighs, offering a high-quality, textured finish that is exceptionally durable. For larger, more graphic designs, our printing services provide a bold and clear alternative.
All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team at our facility in Telford. With MyWorkwear's heritage dating back to 1976, we apply decades of expertise to every garment, ensuring your branding is applied with precision and care.
Use Cases
While specifically tailored for painters and decorators, these trousers are also an ideal choice for plasterers, joiners, and flooring contractors who require ample storage and knee protection. The substantial cotton fabric makes them particularly suited for indoor renovation projects where both breathability and durability are required.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, keep in mind that the elasticated waist provides some flexibility, but for the most comfortable fit during active work, we recommend choosing your standard waist size. Given the breathable nature of the cotton, these are excellent for indoor use; however, they can be easily paired with thermal base layers if working on cold, unheated sites.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional look of your trousers, it is important to follow the recommended care routine. We advise a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove trade-related stains like paint or plaster while ensuring the Kingsmill Cotton fibres remain strong.
Do not use bleach, as these harsh chemicals will degrade the cotton fibres and significantly reduce the lifespan of the garment. We also recommend avoiding the tumble dryer in favour of line drying. High mechanical heat can lead to unnecessary fabric shrinkage and may negatively affect the longevity of any custom embroidery or print.
For a sharp finish, the trousers can be ironed at a maximum temperature of 150°C. If the garment becomes heavily soiled with oils or non-water-based materials, it is suitable for professional dry cleaning using tetrachloroethene to ensure a thorough clean without damaging the fabric structure.
