Product Overview

The Modaflame Work HVO Multi-Norm FR Coverall is a sophisticated piece of protective equipment engineered for professionals operating in high-risk, multi-hazard environments. Designed to provide comprehensive safety without compromising on comfort, this coverall is constructed from Modaflame Work HVO fabric, which offers inherent flame resistance and anti-static protection. This means the protective qualities are built into the very fibres of the material, ensuring that safety is maintained throughout the life of the garment, regardless of how many times it is laundered. The high-visibility orange finish ensures compliance with stringent safety standards, making it an essential choice for rail and utility sectors.

Key Features

  • Inherent Flame Resistance: The blend of Modacrylic and Aramid fibres provides permanent protection against heat and flames that cannot be washed away or chemically worn off.
  • Anti-Static Protection: Integrated carbon fibres prevent the build-up of static electricity, reducing the risk of sparks in explosive or sensitive atmospheres.
  • High-Visibility Compliance: Certified to EN ISO 20471 and RIS 3279, this garment ensures maximum visibility for workers in proximity to traffic or moving machinery.
  • Moisture Management: The inclusion of viscose in the fabric blend allows for superior breathability and moisture wicking, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable during long shifts.
  • Durable Construction: The substantial fabric weight and high-performance fibres like Aramid ensure the coverall can withstand the rigours of heavy industrial use.

Design & Performance

The technical composition of this garment is a testament to modern fabric engineering. By blending 61% Modacrylic with 18% Viscose, 15% Polyester, 5% Aramid, and 1% Carbon Fibre, the material achieves a balance of extreme durability and wearer comfort. This is a substantial, medium-to-heavyweight garment that feels sturdy and protective. The Aramid fibres provide exceptional tensile strength and heat resistance, while the Modacrylic acts as the primary flame-resistant component. The result is a coverall that offers a soft handle—uncommon in high-protection garments—ensuring that safety does not come at the cost of mobility or skin irritation.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its technical nature, the Modaflame Work HVO Coverall is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For a refined and durable finish, we recommend embroidery. This method is ideal for company logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated appearance that withstands industrial laundering. For larger, more vibrant identification on the back of the garment, heat-applied printing is a viable alternative. Every customisation project is managed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on our heritage in workwear since 1976 to ensure your branding is applied with precision and care.

Use Cases

This multi-norm coverall is specifically designed for industries where risks are varied and unpredictable. It is highly suited for the rail industry, where the RIS 3279 standard is a requirement for trackside safety. Additionally, it is an excellent choice for utility workers, petrochemical technicians, and electricians who require protection against electric arcs, static discharge, and accidental flame contact. Its high-visibility properties also make it suitable for construction sites where heavy machinery and poor lighting conditions are prevalent.

Why MyWorkwear

Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been at the forefront of the UK workwear industry. Operating from our base in Telford, we combine decades of technical expertise with the latest customisation technology. We understand that protective clothing is more than just a uniform—it is essential safety equipment. Our long-standing heritage ensures that every garment we supply and customise meets the highest standards of quality and reliability that British businesses have come to expect.

Practical Advice

To ensure maximum protection, this coverall should be worn as a complete system. We recommend layering it over flame-resistant base layers to enhance thermal protection. When choosing your size, consider the need for ease of movement; a coverall that is too tight may restrict your range of motion when climbing or reaching, while one that is too loose can become a snagging hazard. Check that the cuffs and hems are properly adjusted to prevent the ingress of sparks or debris.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and protective performance of your coverall, it is vital to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so may degrade the fibres and compromise your safety.

We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Washing at higher temperatures can lead to excessive shrinkage and may eventually weaken the synthetic fibres, reducing the garment's lifespan.

Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Bleaching agents are chemically aggressive and can destroy the aramid and modacrylic fibres, effectively stripping the garment of its protective capabilities and damaging the high-visibility pigments.

Tumble drying should only be performed at a low temperature setting. Excessive heat in the dryer can cause the fabric to become brittle or warp, which can affect the fit and comfort of the coverall. For the best results, remove the garment while slightly damp and hang to finish drying naturally.

If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 110°C. High heat can melt the synthetic components of the fabric blend, particularly the polyester and modacrylic elements. This garment should not be dry cleaned, as the chemical solvents used in the process can leave residues that may interfere with the flame-resistant properties or the anti-static carbon fibres.
