Product Overview

The FB30 3000 Over-Coat is a sophisticated piece of technical equipment designed for high-risk environments where thermal protection and structural integrity are paramount. Engineered with a specialised blend of DuPont™ Nomex® and Lenzing® FR Viscose, this garment provides a critical defensive layer against heat and flame. Certified to EN 469 Level 2 standards, it is built for those who require the highest level of structural firefighting protection without compromising on operational efficiency. The coat's construction prioritises the safety of the wearer in the most demanding conditions, ensuring reliability when it matters most.

Key Features
  • Quick release front zip: This allows for rapid donning and doffing, which is essential in emergency situations where every second saved contributes to safety.
  • Lower front pockets with press studs: These substantial pockets are specifically designed to store gloves and other necessary equipment securely while remaining easy to access.
  • Knitted cuffs with thumb loops: These integrated loops ensure the sleeves remain securely in place, preventing exposure and maintaining a consistent thermal seal around the wrists during active movement.
  • Multi-layered thermal protection: The internal system includes a moisture barrier and thermal layers to manage the wearer's microclimate and prevent external heat penetration.

Design & Performance

The construction of the FB30 Over-Coat reflects a meticulous approach to safety engineering. The outer shell uses a robust, medium-weight fabric that balances durability with the flexibility needed for physical tasks. Internally, the garment features a complex layering system designed to manage heat and moisture. A moisture-wicking FR knitted fabric with a PU membrane prevents external liquids and chemicals from reaching the wearer, while non-woven thermal layers provide a significant buffer against extreme heat transfer. The use of Aramid Viscose in the innermost layer ensures the coat remains comfortable against the body during long, strenuous shifts. This is not a standard coat; it is a highly engineered protective shell designed for performance under pressure.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its technical complexity, the 3000 Over-Coat can be customised to represent your organisation professionally. Embroidery is an excellent choice for adding company logos or individual names, providing a durable and prestigious finish that stands up well to the rigours of heavy-duty work. For larger, more prominent identification markers on the back or chest, our high-quality printing services offer a clear and bold alternative. Our expert team, based in Telford since 1976, handles all customisation in-house to ensure that your branding maintains the integrity and professional appearance of this essential safety equipment.

Use Cases

This over-coat is purpose-built for personnel operating in environments governed by EN 469 standards, such as structural firefighting or industrial emergency response teams. It is ideal for safety officers, emergency crews, and technicians who require a reliable thermal barrier and liquid protection in hazardous, high-temperature scenarios.

Practical Advice

Due to the substantial, multi-layered nature of this protective garment, we recommend considering the clothing you will wear underneath when selecting your size. This coat is designed to fit over standard workwear layers, so ensuring a comfortable range of movement is essential for performing operational tasks effectively. If you are between sizes, opting for the larger size often provides better mobility in a technical over-coat of this nature.

Caring for your product

To ensure the continued efficacy of the flame-resistant properties and the longevity of this specialised garment, strict adherence to the care instructions is mandatory for maintaining its protective standards.

A normal domestic wash should be limited to a maximum temperature of 60°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the technical fibres and the internal moisture barrier, which would compromise the garment's ability to protect the wearer from heat and liquids.

Under no circumstances should bleach be used on this garment. Bleaching agents will degrade the Nomex® and Lenzing® fibres, significantly reducing the flame-resistant performance of the outer shell and potentially voiding its safety certifications.

The coat may be tumble dried on a normal setting or line dried in the shade. We recommend avoiding drying in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can cause unnecessary UV degradation to the outer shell fabric over time.

If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C to avoid heat damage to the internal PU membrane. Professional dry cleaning is also permissible using Tetrachloroethene, which is effective for removing heavy industrial contaminants that a standard domestic wash might not fully eliminate.
