Product Overview
The Modaflame Knit Hi-Vis FR Sweatshirt is a specialized garment engineered for high-risk environments where flame resistance and visibility are paramount. This sweatshirt provides comprehensive protection, ensuring the wearer is visible from every direction while benefiting from the inherent safety properties of the Modaflame fabric. It balances the need for rigorous safety standards with a comfortable, professional fit suitable for daily use in challenging industrial settings.
Key Features
Inherent flame resistance ensures that the protective properties are built into the fibres, meaning they will not diminish or wash out after repeated laundering.
360-degree high-visibility protection offers maximum visibility to keep workers safe in low-light conditions or near moving machinery.
Snug rib knit cuffs and hem provide a secure, comfortable fit that prevents heat loss and ensures the garment stays in place during active movement.
The advanced fabric blend of Modacrylic, Cotton, and Carbon Fibre creates a material that is safe, breathable, and capable of discharging static electricity.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a substantial, medium-weight Modaflame Knit, this sweatshirt is designed for long-term durability and wearer comfort. The fabric composition—consisting of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre—offers a unique combination of heat resistance and natural softness. The inclusion of carbon fibre provides essential anti-static properties, which is vital in volatile environments. Unlike chemically treated garments, this sweatshirt's flame resistance is permanent, providing reliable protection throughout the entire lifecycle of the product. The knit structure allows for a degree of natural stretch, making it an excellent choice for workers who require a full range of motion without restriction.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Modaflame Knit Hi-Vis FR Sweatshirt is compatible with both print and embroidery, allowing you to maintain your corporate identity without compromising safety. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a superior professional appearance, ideal for company logos or staff names that need to withstand the rigours of industrial work. Printing is an effective option for larger, bold designs that require high visibility and immediate impact. Our in-house customisation team, based in Telford and established in 1976, ensures that every application is handled with expert precision to maintain the integrity of the garment.
Use Cases
This sweatshirt is specifically designed for professionals working in multi-norm environments, such as the petrochemical, utility, or rail industries. It is an essential garment for those who require certified protection against heat and flame while needing to remain highly visible to colleagues and vehicle operators on site.

Practical Advice
For optimum performance in colder environments, this sweatshirt works effectively as a mid-layer. We recommend ensuring that any base layers worn underneath are also flame-resistant to maintain the overall safety profile of your workwear system. When selecting your size, please note that the rib knit cuffs and hem are designed for a snug fit to keep out draughts and ensure safety near machinery.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility and flame-resistant performance of this garment, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature may damage the specialized fibres and reduce the longevity of the garment's protective features.
Do not use bleach, as harsh chemical agents will degrade the fabric and compromise the high-visibility yellow colour, making the garment less effective for safety. Similarly, avoid dry cleaning to prevent chemical exposure that could alter the fabric's technical properties.
We advise against tumble drying; instead, line dry the sweatshirt to preserve its shape and fit. High heat from a tumble dryer can cause the knit to shrink. If required, iron at a maximum temperature of 110°C, taking care to avoid any printed or embroidered areas to prevent damage to your custom branding.
