Product Overview
The PW3 Modaflame Knit Hi-Vis FR Long Sleeve T-Shirt is a technical garment designed for those who require high-level protection without sacrificing ease of movement. This long-sleeved t-shirt is engineered with inherent safety features, meaning the protection is built into the fibres themselves rather than being a surface treatment. It provides essential resistance to flames, anti-static protection, and electric arc coverage, making it an indispensable choice for hazardous working environments.
Key Features
- Inherently flame resistant: Because the protection is a fundamental part of the fabric's composition, it will not wash out or wear away over time, ensuring long-term safety.
- Anti-static properties: The inclusion of specialized fibres helps dissipate electrostatic charges, which is critical in environments where sparks could lead to catastrophe.
- Electric arc protection: This garment acts as a vital barrier for those working near electrical hazards, reducing the risk of injury from arc flashes.
- Segmented reflective tape: The innovative segmented design allows the tape to flex and move with the wearer, providing high visibility without the restriction often found in traditional solid bands.
Design & Performance
This t-shirt is constructed from Modaflame Knit HV fabric, a sophisticated blend of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre. The Modacrylic provides the necessary flame resistance, while the high cotton content ensures that the fabric remains breathable and comfortable against the skin. The carbon fibre is strategically integrated to provide permanent anti-static performance. This lightweight fabric is specifically chosen for its ability to provide multi-norm protection while remaining soft and wearable for full-day shifts.
The performance is further enhanced by the garment's ergonomic design. The long sleeves offer full arm coverage, while the stylish yellow and black contrast design ensures the wearer remains clearly visible. The segmented tape is heat-applied, which reduces the weight of the garment and prevents the "chafing" sometimes associated with stitched-on reflective materials.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The PW3 Modaflame t-shirt is an excellent candidate for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional and durable finish, making it ideal for adding company logos or staff names to the chest area. It provides a three-dimensional, high-quality appearance that withstands the rigours of industrial use.
For larger, bolder branding on the back or sleeves, our high-quality print process ensures your design remains sharp and visible. Our in-house customisation team has been operating in Telford since 1976, and we take great care to ensure that all branding is applied without compromising the garment's protective certifications. We handle everything on-site, ensuring your team looks professional while staying safe.
Use Cases
This garment is specifically designed for professionals in the petrochemical, utility, and electrical sectors. It is also well-suited for any industrial environment that requires both flame-resistant and high-visibility clothing. Whether working on-site in low light or in proximity to electrical equipment, this t-shirt provides a robust layer of protection.

Practical Advice
This t-shirt features a regular fit that is designed to be worn comfortably over a base layer or on its own. When selecting your size, consider that a slightly looser fit can help air circulate, improving the garment's breathability in warm conditions. For maximum protection, it should be worn as part of a complete flame-resistant and anti-static clothing system.
Caring for your product
To ensure this garment continues to provide the necessary protection and visibility, it must be cared for correctly. Maintaining the integrity of the Modaflame fibres is essential for your safety on the job.
A domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C is recommended using a normal process. Higher temperatures or aggressive wash cycles could potentially damage the structure of the knit or the reflective tape.
Bleaching agents must never be used on this garment. Chlorine and other bleaches will break down the protective fibres and can significantly reduce the flame-resistant properties, putting the wearer at risk.
Do not tumble dry this t-shirt. High heat from a dryer can cause shrinkage and may damage the segmented reflective tape. Instead, the garment should be line dried in the shade to preserve the vibrancy of the high-visibility yellow pigment.
If ironing is required, use a low heat setting with a maximum sole-plate temperature of 110°C. Do not iron directly over the reflective tape or any custom branding. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used can interfere with the fabric's technical performance.
