Product Overview

The Modaflame Fleece Hi-Vis Contrast FR Jacket represents a sophisticated approach to protective workwear, combining thermal insulation with essential safety specifications. As an inherently flame-resistant garment, it provides a reliable barrier against heat and flame without the risk of protection diminishing over time through laundering. This two-tone fleece is engineered for professionals who require high visibility and flame retardancy without compromising on the comfort and warmth typically associated with standard fleece garments.

Key Features

  • Anti-pill finish: This ensures the fabric remains smooth and professional-looking after repeated wear, preventing the bobbling that often affects lower-quality fleeces.
  • Contrast panels: Strategically positioned to protect against dirt and grime, these panels help the garment maintain a cleaner appearance in industrial environments.
  • Zipped pockets: Two side pockets provide secure storage for essential tools or personal items, ensuring they remain safe while you are on the move.
  • Elasticated cuffs and drawcord hem: These features allow for a more secure and adjustable fit, effectively trapping heat and preventing draughts from entering the garment.

Design & Performance

The garment is constructed from a technical blend of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This composition ensures that the flame-resistant properties are inherent to the fibres themselves rather than being a chemical treatment applied to the surface. The inclusion of cotton provides breathability and a softer hand-feel, while the carbon fibre offers anti-static properties essential for certain high-risk environments.

This medium-weight fleece is designed for durability in demanding conditions. The high-quality finish and robust construction mean it is more than capable of standing up to the daily rigours of the workplace. The design focuses on both visibility and utility, ensuring the wearer remains conspicuous while having the freedom of movement required for physical tasks.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Modaflame Fleece is suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your safety gear with your corporate identity. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a superior professional finish, ideal for company logos or staff names that need to withstand the rigours of industrial work. For larger, high-visibility branding on the back of the garment, our technical printing processes provide a bold and clear result.

Our in-house team at MyWorkwear has been refining these customisation techniques since 1976. Operating from our facility in Telford, we ensure that every logo is applied with precision, maintaining the garment's integrity while enhancing your professional image.

Use Cases

This jacket is ideally suited for workers in the utilities, petrochemical, and rail industries where both high-visibility and flame resistance are mandatory. It serves as an excellent outer layer in transitional weather or a substantial mid-layer during the winter months for those working in environments where static or flame risks are present.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider the layers you intend to wear beneath the jacket. The adjustable drawcord hem allows for a more tailored fit, which is particularly useful for preventing heat loss in windy conditions. If you are between sizes, we recommend opting for the larger size to ensure full range of movement when working.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and longevity of your flame-resistant fleece, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Proper maintenance ensures the fabric's integrity and ensures your custom branding remains vibrant for longer.

Machine wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Exceeding this temperature can lead to fabric shrinkage and may affect the structural integrity of the high-visibility tapes and the flame-resistant fibres.

Do not use bleach or any oxidizing agents. Bleach will degrade the inherent flame-resistant fibres and significantly compromise the safety properties of the jacket, rendering it less effective in hazardous situations.

The garment should be line dried only. Do not tumble dry, as the intense heat of a dryer can cause excessive shrinkage and damage the elasticated components of the cuffs and hem.

If ironing is required, use a maximum temperature of 110°C. Excessive heat from an iron can melt the technical modacrylic fibres or damage the reflective elements. Do not dry clean this garment, as the industrial chemicals used in the process can strip away the contrast between the panels and damage the protective properties.
