Product Overview
The Iona Enhanced Lightweight Packable Trousers are designed for professionals who require reliable weather protection without the bulk of traditional rainwear. These overtrousers provide a sophisticated balance of waterproofing and breathability, ensuring that sudden downpours do not result in a damp or uncomfortable afternoon on site. The lightweight construction is specifically engineered for portability, allowing the garment to be tucked away when the clouds clear.
Key Features
- Waterproof and Breathable Membrane: The integrated TPU membrane acts as a barrier against external moisture while allowing internal water vapour to escape, preventing the build-up of condensation inside the garment.
- Packable Pocket Design: For those who appreciate efficiency, these trousers fold neatly into their own integrated pocket, making them remarkably easy to store in a vehicle or tool bag.
- Adjustable Hem: The hem adjustment allows the wearer to achieve a secure fit over different types of footwear, preventing water ingress at the ankle.
- Enhanced Visibility Details: As part of the Iona range, these trousers incorporate subtle elements designed to increase your presence in low-light environments without the need for full high-visibility certification.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a 100% Polyester 50D Jacquard 2-layer fabric, these trousers offer a technical approach to rain protection. Unlike standard plastic-feel overtrousers, the Jacquard weave provides a more refined texture and improved durability. The TPU membrane is the secret to its performance; it is a microscopic mesh that is too small for water droplets to enter but large enough for sweat molecules to exit. This lightweight fabric ensures that you remain mobile and comfortable, even when layering over your primary work trousers.
Why No Customisation?
We provide these trousers as a non-customised item to ensure their technical integrity remains uncompromised. Applying embroidery would involve puncturing the waterproof TPU membrane with thousands of needle holes, which would inevitably lead to leaks. Similarly, the heat-sensitive nature of the waterproof coating makes certain print processes unsuitable. To ensure you stay completely dry, we recommend using these as-is.
Use Cases
These trousers are an ideal solution for site managers, delivery drivers, and tradespeople who move frequently between indoor and outdoor environments. They are perfect for emergency use during unpredictable weather or for light outdoor duties where heavy-duty, bulky waterproofs would be overkill.

Practical Advice
As these are designed as overtrousers, they feature a generous fit to accommodate your standard trousers underneath. We recommend selecting your usual size, but if you prefer a particularly slim fit or are wearing very thin base layers, do take this into account. The packable feature is most effective when the garment is completely dry; avoid packing them away while damp for extended periods to maintain the fabric's freshness.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical performance of the waterproof membrane, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Using a gentle process helps to preserve the TPU layer and ensures the fabric remains breathable. Avoid using biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can clog the pores of the membrane.
Never use bleach on this garment, as it will cause irreversible damage to the polyester fibres and the waterproof coating. Similarly, do not tumble dry or iron the trousers; high heat will melt or warp the TPU membrane, rendering the trousers no longer waterproof. For best results, simply line dry the garment in the shade.
Please note that the technical properties of the garment are rated for a maximum of 50 washes. Beyond this point, the effectiveness of the waterproof finish may begin to diminish, and replacement should be considered to maintain full protection.
