Product Overview

The Hi-Vis Rain Lite Traffic Jacket (S160) is a professionally engineered solution for those requiring high-level visibility and weather protection without the restrictive weight of a heavy coat. Designed to provide high quality at an accessible price point, this jacket is constructed from a lightweight but durable fabric that makes it ideal for active roles in the transport, construction, and logistics sectors.

Key Features

  • The front zip is protected by a Hook & Loop storm flap, providing a robust secondary barrier against wind and driving rain.
  • Jetted hip pockets offer convenient and secure storage for essential tools or personal items while maintaining a streamlined appearance.
  • Stud adjustable cuffs allow the wearer to create a secure seal around the wrists, preventing water from running up the sleeves during manual tasks.
  • The high-visibility orange fabric, combined with reflective tape, ensures the wearer remains clearly visible to colleagues and motorists in low-light or hazardous conditions.

Design & Performance

This jacket is crafted from a 100% Polyester, 150D Oxford Weave fabric. The 'Oxford Weave' provides a professional texture and increased durability against scuffs and tears. To ensure complete protection from the elements, the shell is PVC coated, creating a reliable waterproof barrier. Inside, a 100% Polyester mesh lining promotes airflow, preventing the clammy feeling often associated with waterproof garments and ensuring comfort during physical exertion.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The S160 is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For a sophisticated and durable finish, we recommend embroidery for chest logos and staff names, which provides a professional look that withstands the rigours of daily work. If you require large, bold branding on the back of the jacket to ensure your company is seen from a distance, our high-quality print process is the ideal choice. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting garment branding since 1976.

Use Cases

This jacket is specifically designed for professionals in traffic management, site supervision, and delivery roles. Its lightweight construction makes it particularly useful for workers who are constantly on the move and need a waterproof layer that won't lead to overheating. It is a practical choice for transitional seasons or for use in environments where heavy insulation is not required.

Practical Advice

As this is a 'Lite' version of a traffic jacket, it is designed for versatility. We suggest layering it over a sweatshirt or fleece during colder mornings, allowing you to adapt to changing temperatures throughout the day. When selecting your size, consider if you will be wearing it over bulky clothing to ensure you maintain a full range of movement.

Caring for your product

To maintain the integrity of the waterproof coating and the brilliance of the high-visibility colour, proper care is essential. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a mild process. Exposing the garment to higher temperatures can damage the PVC coating and cause the reflective tape to lose its luminosity.

Do not use bleach on this garment. Bleaching agents will strip the orange pigment and compromise the safety standards the jacket is designed to meet. Additionally, this jacket must not be tumble dried; heat from a dryer can cause the waterproof layer to crack or peel. Instead, we recommend drip-line drying.

Under no circumstances should this jacket be ironed. The synthetic polyester and PVC coating will melt if they come into contact with a hot iron. Finally, please note that this garment is rated for a maximum of 25 washes to ensure it continues to provide the necessary level of visibility for safety compliance.
