Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Half Mesh Two Band Vest is a specialized safety garment designed specifically for professionals operating in warmer climates or high-intensity environments where ventilation is as critical as visibility. This lightweight orange vest addresses the common issue of overheating on-site by utilizing a strategic half-mesh construction that promotes airflow without compromising on safety standards.
Key Features
- Breathable MeshAir Fabric: The upper portion of the vest features a mesh panel that allows heat to escape and air to circulate, keeping the wearer comfortable during long shifts in the sun.
- Integrated ID Window: A clear, dedicated pocket for identification ensures that security and site credentials are visible at all times, streamlining access control on busy sites.
- Two-Band Reflective Tape: High-quality reflective strips wrap around the torso, ensuring you remain visible to colleagues and vehicle operators in low-light conditions.
- Secure Hook and Loop Closure: The front fastening is designed for ease of use, allowing the vest to be put on or removed quickly over existing workwear.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a lightweight 100% polyester warp knit, this vest is engineered for both durability and comfort. The fabric choice ensures that the garment remains light on the shoulders, reducing fatigue throughout the working day. By combining standard solid panels with MeshAir technology, the design offers a robust structure that supports the weight of the ID window while maintaining superior breathability.
The performance of the vest is focused on temperature regulation. In traditional hi-vis vests, the solid polyester can trap heat; however, this half-mesh alternative allows for significant moisture vapour transmission, making it a superior choice for outdoor summer work or indoor environments with restricted airflow.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we provide expert customisation to ensure your team maintains a professional appearance. This vest is suitable for both print and embroidery. For a formal, long-lasting finish, our Telford-based team recommends embroidery for company logos and individual names. If you require a larger, more striking graphic on the back of the vest, our high-quality printing process ensures bold designs that remain visible against the orange background.
Since 1976, we have managed all customisation in-house, ensuring that every garment leaving our facility meets our rigorous quality standards before it reaches your workforce.
Use Cases
This vest is an essential requirement for those in the construction, tree surgery, and security industries. It is particularly well-suited for electricians, plumbers, and mechanics who may be working in confined, warm spaces where airflow is limited. Its high-visibility orange colour makes it ideal for rail-adjacent work or any site where orange is the mandated safety standard.

Practical Advice
As this is a 4X/5X size vest, it is designed with a generous fit to be worn as an outer layer. For the best fit, we recommend measuring over your standard work shirt or sweatshirt. If you are layering over heavy winter jackets, ensure you allow for the extra bulk to maintain full mobility.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and fabric integrity of this vest, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures can damage the reflective tape and cause the polyester fibres to degrade prematurely.
Do not use bleach on this garment, as harsh chemicals will strip the fluorescent orange pigment and significantly reduce the safety rating of the vest. It is also important to avoid tumble drying; instead, the vest should be line dried. High heat from a dryer can cause the reflective bands to crack or peel.
Furthermore, do not iron or dry clean this product. Direct heat from an iron will melt the warp knit fabric and the reflective materials. Please note that this vest is rated for a maximum of 50 washes; beyond this point, the visibility performance may no longer meet the original safety specifications.
