Product Overview

The RT61 Hi-Vis Breathable Rain Trousers are an expertly engineered solution for professionals who require high-visibility protection without the discomfort of heat build-up. These trousers have been specifically designed to adhere to the RIS-3279-TOM safety standards, making them an essential requirement for the UK rail industry and other high-risk environments. By balancing a fully waterproof exterior with a breathable membrane, these trousers ensure that the wearer remains dry from external rain while allowing internal moisture to escape during physical activity.

Key Features
  • Certified to RIS-3279-TOM standards, ensuring compliance for use on the UK rail network.
  • The breathable fabric prevents the buildup of condensation, keeping the wearer comfortable throughout the working day.
  • A double PU coating provides a robust barrier against heavy rain and moisture penetration.
  • Side access slits with integrated plackets allow for easy access to the pockets of trousers worn underneath.
  • The stain-resistant finish helps to maintain the brightness of the high-visibility orange, ensuring long-term safety and a professional appearance.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a 300D Oxford weave polyester, these trousers are built for durability in demanding environments. The fabric is substantial enough to resist snags and tears while remaining flexible enough for ease of movement. The technical performance is enhanced by a double PU coating, which ensures the garment remains waterproof even in prolonged downpours. The breathable nature of the fabric is a significant advantage for active workers, as it allows for air circulation that non-breathable alternatives simply cannot match.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

These rain trousers are suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing your team to maintain a consistent brand identity even in foul weather. Embroidery is recommended for smaller company logos and names, providing a durable and professional finish that stands up well to the rigours of outdoor work. For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing process ensures bold visibility. Our Telford-based team, established in 1976, manages all customisation in-house to ensure the highest standards of technical execution.

Use Cases

While specifically engineered for the rail industry due to the RIS-3279-TOM certification, these trousers are also perfectly suited for construction workers, roadside assistance teams, and surveyors. Their design as an over-trouser makes them a versatile piece of equipment for any worker who needs to pull on a waterproof layer quickly when the weather turns.

Why MyWorkwear

Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been a trusted partner for UK businesses seeking reliable, high-quality workwear. Operating from our facility in Telford, we combine decades of expertise with modern customisation techniques. We understand that your workwear needs to be more than just compliant—it needs to be durable, comfortable, and a true representation of your professional standards.

Practical Advice

These trousers are designed with a generous fit to be worn over your standard work trousers. We recommend ordering your usual size, as the additional room required for layering has already been accounted for in the design. Ensure the side plackets are correctly positioned to prevent water from entering through the access slits.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical integrity of the waterproof and breathable layers, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures can damage the PU coating and the stain-resistant finish, reducing the garment's lifespan.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the orange pigment and the reflective tape, potentially rendering the garment non-compliant with safety standards. Tumble drying should be avoided; instead, drip-line dry the trousers to prevent heat damage to the synthetic fibres and waterproof membrane.

Do not iron or dry clean this product. Excessive heat and harsh chemical solvents will compromise the protective coatings. Finally, please be aware that this garment is certified for a maximum of 50 washes; after this point, the high-visibility properties may no longer meet the required safety specifications.
