Product Overview

The P251 FFP2 Valved Fold Flat Respirator is a critical piece of personal protective equipment designed to provide reliable respiratory protection in challenging work environments. Supplied in a pack of 20, these masks are engineered with a vertical fold-flat design, allowing for easy storage in a pocket or toolbox when not in use. Each mask is housed in an individual polybag, ensuring it remains clean and hygienic until the moment it is required. This respirator strikes a balance between high-level filtration and the practical needs of a busy workforce.

Key Features

  • Exhalation Valve: This integrated valve reduces breathing resistance and minimises heat and moisture build-up, making it significantly more comfortable for extended periods of use.
  • Adjustable Nose Clip: The malleable nose clip allows the wearer to achieve a secure, optimised fit around the bridge of the nose, which is essential for preventing eyewear from fogging.
  • Ultrasound Welded Elastic Bands: These bands are attached without the need for staples or stitching, reducing potential irritation points and ensuring the straps remain securely fixed to the mask body.
  • Individual Polybags: Each respirator is individually wrapped, protecting the filter media from dust and contaminants before use and making them easy to distribute among a team.
  • Vertical Fold Design: The clever folding mechanism ensures the mask maintains its shape while providing a broad surface area for effective filtration.

Design & Performance

Manufactured from a combination of Polypropylene and PU Foam, the P251 is a lightweight yet robust respirator. The inner foam layer provides a soft seal against the skin, while the multi-layered PP filter media captures airborne particles with high efficiency. Despite its lightweight construction, the mask feels substantial and secure on the face, providing the wearer with the confidence that they are adequately protected against non-toxic solid and liquid aerosols.

Why No Customisation?

As this is a piece of certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), we do not offer customisation options such as printing or embroidery. Any modification to the surface of the respirator, whether through heat application or needle punctures, would compromise the structural integrity of the filter material. To ensure your safety and maintain the FFP2 certification, these masks must be used exactly as they are manufactured.

Use Cases

This respirator is highly versatile and suitable for professionals across a wide range of industries. It is particularly effective for carpenters and construction workers dealing with wood dust, painters and decorators working with sanding residues, and healthcare or veterinary professionals requiring a reliable barrier. It is also suitable for those involved in chemical handling, welding, and tree surgery where respiratory irritants are present.

Practical Advice

To ensure maximum protection, always perform a fit check every time you don the mask. Mould the nose clip firmly using both hands to create a tight seal. If you have facial hair, be aware that it may prevent the mask from sealing correctly against the face, which can allow unfiltered air to enter. For those working in high-intensity roles, the valved design is particularly beneficial as it helps keep the face cooler than non-valved alternatives.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance of this respirator, it is vital to remember that it is a single-use, disposable item. Once the mask becomes clogged, damp, or damaged, its filtration efficiency is compromised and it must be replaced.

Do not attempt to wash, bleach, or dry-clean these masks. Exposing the filter media to water or cleaning chemicals will destroy the electrostatic charge required to trap fine particles. Similarly, do not use compressed air to 'clean' the mask, as this will tear the delicate fibres within the filter layer.

Store unused respirators in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and contaminants. Always check the 'use by' date on the packaging to ensure the materials are still performing at their peak.
