Product Overview

The FFP2 Carbon Valved Dolomite Respirator provides a high level of respiratory protection against solid and liquid particles, combined with an additional layer of activated carbon to filter out nuisance odours. Designed with a comfortable cup shape, this respirator is engineered for those working in environments where both particulate matter and unpleasant, non-toxic smells are a constant factor. The inclusion of an exhalation valve ensures that the wearer remains comfortable during extended shifts by reducing heat and moisture buildup within the mask.

Key Features

  • FFP2 Protection: Provides effective filtration against moderate levels of fine dust and oil or water-based mists, essential for maintaining health in industrial settings.
  • Activated Carbon Layer: Specifically included to absorb nuisance odours, making work in environments with organic vapours or smells significantly more bearable.
  • Exhalation Valve: This feature reduces breathing resistance, allowing exhaled air to escape more easily and keeping the face cooler.
  • Dolomite Clogging Test: Meeting the optional 'D' requirement ensures the mask provides a longer-lasting filtration performance and lower breathing resistance even in very dusty conditions.
  • Adjustable Nose Clip: Allows for a bespoke fit around the bridge of the nose, which is vital for achieving an effective seal and preventing safety eyewear from misting.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a combination of polypropylene and polyurethane foam, this respirator is lightweight yet maintains a sturdy, pre-formed cup shape that does not collapse easily against the face. The interior PU foam nose seal provides a soft contact point against the skin, ensuring that the necessary tight fit does not come at the expense of comfort. Performance-wise, the respirator is tested to EN 149 standards, ensuring it meets rigorous European safety requirements for filtration efficiency and leakage.

Why No Customisation?

As a piece of certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), this respirator cannot be customised with printing or embroidery. Any alteration to the surface of the mask—such as punctures from needles or the application of heat and chemicals from printing—would compromise the integrity of the filtration material and invalidate the FFP2 safety certification. Protecting your health is the priority here, and we provide these masks in their original, tested state to ensure they perform exactly as intended.

Use Cases

This respirator is a versatile choice for a wide range of professionals. It is particularly well-suited for carpenters and construction workers dealing with fine dust, as well as plumbers and veterinary staff who may encounter nuisance odours. It is also highly recommended for those in chemical handling, cleaning, and welding, where both particulate and odour management are required for a safer working environment.

Practical Advice

To ensure maximum protection, a proper fit is essential. When donning the mask, ensure both straps are positioned correctly—one at the nape of the neck and the other at the crown of the head. Use both hands to mould the adjustable nose clip to the shape of your nose; using only one hand can result in an uneven seal. If you have facial hair, be aware that it may prevent a perfect seal, significantly reducing the respirator's effectiveness.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and safety standards of this respirator, it must be treated correctly as a disposable item. We recommend disposing of the mask after a single shift or sooner if it becomes damaged, soiled, or if breathing becomes noticeably more difficult. These masks are 'NR' (Non-Reusable) rated, and attempting to use them beyond their intended lifespan will lead to a decrease in filtration efficiency.

Never attempt to wash or clean these respirators with water, solvents, or compressed air. Doing so will destroy the electrostatic charge of the polypropylene fibres which is responsible for trapping fine particles. Likewise, applying heat to dry a damp mask will warp the shape and compromise the seal. Store the remaining masks in their original packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to ensure they remain effective until needed.
