Product Overview

The ES1 Essential Hi-Vis Combat Trouser is a fundamental piece of safety equipment designed for those who require both high visibility and practical utility on the job. Combining a vibrant orange hue with a robust build, these trousers are engineered to withstand the rigours of a busy working day while ensuring the wearer remains easily seen. With a focus on functionality, they provide ample storage without compromising on the comfort necessary for long shifts.

Key Features
  • Multiple storage options: The inclusion of several pockets allows for the secure and organised stowing of essential tools and personal items, keeping them within easy reach throughout the day.
  • Kingsmill Polycotton fabric: This high-performance material offers a refined balance of durability and comfort, ensuring the trousers remain intact even during demanding physical tasks.
  • Pre-shrunk material: The fabric undergoes a meticulous pre-shrinking process to ensure that the garment maintains its original fit and shape even after numerous wash cycles.
  • Superior dye retention: High-quality dyes ensure that the fluorescent orange remains bright and compliant with visibility requirements for a longer period than standard fabrics.

Design & Performance

Crafted from Kingsmill Polycotton—a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton—these trousers represent a well-engineered garment that prioritises longevity. This medium-weight fabric provides a substantial, sturdy feel that resists the wear and tear typical of manual labour, yet remains breathable enough for consistent movement. The material is designed for maximum comfort, allowing the wearer to focus on the task at hand rather than their workwear. Furthermore, the construction is geared towards high performance in environments where safety and visibility are non-negotiable.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Personalising your workwear is an essential step in maintaining a professional corporate identity. For the ES1 Essential Hi-Vis Combat Trouser, embroidery is an excellent choice for adding company logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated and permanent finish that withstands regular laundering. Alternatively, print is highly effective for larger, bold designs that need to stand out from a distance. At MyWorkwear, our expert in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring your branding is applied with precision and care to every garment.

Use Cases

These trousers are ideal for professionals working in construction, road maintenance, and logistics where high-visibility clothing is a mandatory safety requirement. They are equally suited for outdoor utility workers and site managers who need a combination of storage for mobile devices or tools and the peace of mind that comes from being highly visible in low-light or high-traffic conditions.

Why MyWorkwear

Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that has been at the forefront of the industry for nearly five decades. Established in 1976, we operate from our specialised facility in Telford, bringing decades of technical expertise to every garment we produce. We understand the specific needs of the UK workforce and pride ourselves on delivering equipment that is both functional and reliable, supported by a heritage of quality craftsmanship.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider the layering you may require during colder months. While these trousers are designed for a standard fit, ensuring you have enough room for thermal base layers can enhance comfort in outdoor settings. We also recommend checking the fit while wearing your usual work boots to ensure the leg length provides full coverage and does not create a trip hazard.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility performance and structural integrity of these trousers, it is important to follow the recommended care instructions precisely. Maintaining the fabric's integrity ensures the garment remains a reliable part of your safety equipment for its intended lifespan.

We suggest a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Exceeding this temperature can damage the polyester fibres and degrade the dye retention, leading to a loss of the essential fluorescent properties. This garment is rated for a maximum of 50 washes; beyond this point, the visibility levels may no longer meet safety standards.

Bleaching should be avoided, as these harsh chemicals will strip the fluorescent colour and weaken the cotton fibres, significantly reducing the garment's lifespan and safety rating. Similarly, do not tumble dry or dry clean; instead, use a drip line dry method. High heat from a dryer can cause uneven shrinkage and damage the technical finish of the Kingsmill fabric. If ironing is necessary, use a maximum temperature of 150°C to avoid scorching the polycotton blend.
