Product Overview
The DX4 Hi-Vis Lightweight Stretch Work Jacket is a masterclass in modern workwear engineering. Designed for those who require maximum agility without compromising on safety, this jacket forms part of the acclaimed DX4 range. It functions exceptionally well as a base layer or a standalone outer garment in milder conditions, providing a sophisticated body-mapped design that moves with you rather than against you. The combination of high-visibility orange and contrasting black panels ensures a professional appearance that meets rigorous safety standards while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic.
Key Features
- High-Stretch Fabric: The blend of polyester and elastane allows for four-way movement, ensuring the jacket does not restrict you when reaching or bending on-site.
- HiVis Tex Pro Segmented Tape: Unlike traditional solid reflective bands, this segmented heat-applied tape allows for greater garment flexibility and breathability.
- Body-Mapped Design: Engineered to follow the natural contours of the body, this construction helps with heat regulation and provides a superior fit.
- Raglan Sleeves: The sleeve construction removes seams from the top of the shoulder, reducing irritation and increasing the range of motion for your arms.
- Durable Contrast Panels: The use of nylon-reinforced fabric in high-wear areas ensures the jacket can withstand the daily rigours of a busy workplace.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a lightweight fabric blend, the main shell consists of 92% polyester and 8% elastane, providing a balance of durability and flexibility. The addition of a high-stretch nylon contrast fabric further enhances the jacket's longevity. Because the material is highly breathable, it actively assists with body temperature control, making it an ideal choice for high-intensity tasks where moisture management is essential. The segmented reflective tape is not just for safety; its heat-applied application means there are no heavy stitches to chafe or restrict the fabric's natural stretch.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This jacket is an excellent canvas for your company branding. For a truly professional and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for chest logos or staff names. The intricate stitching provides a textured, premium look that stands up well to repeated laundering. Alternatively, for larger, more vibrant graphics on the back, heat-applied print is a superb option. Our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring your logo is applied with precision to maintain the garment's performance characteristics.
Use Cases
This jacket is perfectly suited for professionals in construction, logistics, and civil engineering who require high-visibility protection but find traditional jackets too restrictive. It is particularly effective for tradespeople who are constantly on the move, such as site surveyors, delivery drivers, or supervisors who need to transition between active site work and vehicle-based tasks.

Practical Advice
Given the lightweight nature of this jacket, it serves as an excellent mid-layer during the winter months. When selecting your size, consider whether you intend to wear it over a thick t-shirt or as a closer-fitting base layer to take full advantage of the moisture-wicking properties. The stretch fabric is forgiving, but a correct fit ensures the segmented tape sits in the optimal position for safety.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and safety certifications of this garment, it is vital to follow the specific care instructions provided. A domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a mild process is recommended to remove dirt while preserving the integrity of the reflective tape. Excessive heat or harsh chemicals can degrade the adhesive used for the segmented bands.
You must avoid the use of bleach, as this will compromise the high-visibility orange pigment and weaken the elastane fibres. Similarly, do not tumble dry this jacket; instead, it should be drip-lined dried. High heat from a tumble dryer can cause the technical fabrics to shrink and the reflective tape to peel.
Ironing is not permitted for this garment, as the synthetic fibres and heat-applied tape are sensitive to direct heat. Furthermore, do not dry clean the jacket. Please note that the reflective properties are rated for a maximum of 50 washes; beyond this point, the visibility performance may begin to diminish, and replacement should be considered for safety-critical environments.
