Product Overview

The Chef's Mesh Air Pro Jacket L/S is a thoughtfully engineered garment designed for the demanding environment of a professional kitchen. Moving away from traditional, bulky catering attire, this jacket features a modern, slimmer silhouette and an ergonomic fit that allows for greater freedom of movement during a busy service. The integration of advanced mesh technology ensures that comfort is prioritised without compromising the professional appearance required in high-end hospitality environments.

Key Features

  • MeshAir Pro Panels: Large breathable panels located at the back and underarms allow for maximum airflow, helping to regulate body temperature in high-heat kitchen environments.
  • Kingsmill Polycotton with Texpel Finish: The shell fabric is designed to be hard-wearing and resistant to the rigours of daily wear, while the specialist finish helps the garment maintain its appearance.
  • Concealed Stud Front: The double-breasted fastening uses concealed studs to provide a clean, professional aesthetic while reducing the risk of buttons catching on kitchen equipment.
  • Integrated Apron Tab: A dedicated tab at the back of the neck keeps your apron securely in place, preventing shifting and irritation during movement.
  • Slimmer Silhouette: The ergonomic design offers a more contemporary fit that moves with the wearer, reducing excess fabric that can be a hindrance in tight spaces.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a lightweight fabric, this jacket balances durability with agility. The shell consists of a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend, known as Kingsmill Polycotton. This combination is highly regarded in the industry for its ability to withstand frequent industrial laundering while remaining comfortable against the skin. The addition of the Texpel finish further enhances the fabric's performance in a food-handling environment.

The standout performance feature is the MeshAir Pro technology. By using a 100% polyester mesh in high-perspiration areas, the jacket actively facilitates moisture management. This is not merely a design choice but a practical solution for chefs working near stoves, grills, and ovens where heat stress is a genuine concern.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that your uniform is an extension of your brand. This jacket is exceptionally well-suited for both print and embroidery. For a truly professional and traditional finish, we recommend embroidery for head chef titles or restaurant logos. This method provides a durable, high-quality texture that stands up well to the frequent washing required for kitchen whites.

Alternatively, if you require larger, more vibrant branding—perhaps for a front-of-house demonstration or a large-scale catering event—our high-quality print service is an excellent choice. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on decades of experience since our founding in 1976.

Use Cases

This jacket is specifically tailored for professionals across the food industry. While it is a staple for head chefs and sous chefs in restaurant kitchens, its sleek design and breathable properties make it equally suitable for bakers, butchers, and those working in hotel or bar catering roles where a polished appearance is essential.

Practical Advice

As this garment features a slimmer, ergonomic fit, we recommend reviewing your sizing requirements carefully to ensure maximum comfort. If you typically wear a traditional loose-fitting chef jacket, you may find this modern cut closer to the body. The mesh panels provide natural ventilation, so there is little need for heavy layering underneath.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and professional appearance of this jacket, it should be laundered at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to ensure hygienic cleanliness and effective stain removal without damaging the integrity of the polycotton fibres.

Bleaching should be avoided at all costs. Harsh bleaching agents will degrade the fabric strength over time and can cause permanent damage to the MeshAir Pro panels and any custom embroidery or print.

For drying, a low-temperature tumble dry is recommended. High heat in a dryer can lead to unnecessary shrinkage and may affect the shape of the ergonomic panels. When ironing, ensure the temperature does not exceed 150°C to keep the fabric smooth without scorching.

Should professional cleaning be required, the jacket can be dry cleaned using Tetrachloroethene under a normal process, ensuring that even the most stubborn kitchen oils are safely removed.
