Product Overview
The PW93 Browguard with Mesh Visor is a dedicated safety solution designed for professionals who require robust facial protection without the drawbacks of traditional plastic shields. This unit combines a high-impact polypropylene browguard with a durable galvanised carbon steel mesh, specifically engineered to defend against large, high-speed particles. Its design focuses on providing a clear field of vision and maximum ventilation, making it an essential piece of equipment for tasks where flying debris is a constant risk.
Key Features
- Integrated Ratchet Adjustment: This system allows the wearer to achieve a precise and secure fit with minimal effort, ensuring the browguard remains stable during active work.
- Polypropylene (PP) Browguard: The use of high-grade PP provides a sturdy yet lightweight frame that protects the forehead area while maintaining structural integrity.
- Galvanised Carbon Steel Mesh Visor: The mesh construction is designed to deflect large particles effectively while allowing for unrestricted airflow, preventing the fogging issues common with solid visors.
- Replacement Visor Compatibility: Designed for longevity, the browguard is compatible with the PW94 replacement visor, allowing you to maintain your equipment without replacing the entire assembly.
Design & Performance
At the heart of the PW93's performance is its adherence to the EN 1731 (F) standard. This technical certification ensures that the visor has been tested to withstand impacts from large particles at significant speeds, providing peace of mind in hazardous environments. The materials—comprising galvanised carbon steel, nylon, and polypropylene—have been selected for their durability and lightweight properties. This ensures that the user can wear the protection for long durations without experiencing the fatigue associated with heavier head-mounted equipment.
The mesh density is carefully balanced to provide a physical barrier against swarf and wood chips while ensuring that visibility remains sharp and unobstructed. The black finish on the frame helps to reduce light reflection, which is particularly beneficial when working in bright outdoor or high-glare industrial settings.
Why No Customisation?
As this product is a critical piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certified to specific safety standards, we do not offer customisation services. Applying logos through heat-pressing or adhesives can compromise the chemical structure of the polypropylene browguard, while any form of mechanical alteration could weaken the frame's impact resistance. To ensure the PW93 performs exactly as intended by the manufacturer and meets all safety regulations, it is supplied in its original, un-modified state.
Use Cases
This browguard is ideally suited for forestry workers, arborists, and landscapers who are frequently exposed to flying vegetation and wood fragments. It is equally effective in industrial settings for operators using machinery that generates large metal swarf or masonry debris. Because of the mesh design, it is the preferred choice for high-exertion tasks where a solid plastic visor would likely steam up and obscure the worker's vision.

Practical Advice
For the safest experience, use the rear ratchet adjustment to ensure the browguard is snug against the head; it should not move when you tilt your head forward. While the mesh visor is excellent for stopping large particles, we recommend wearing secondary eye protection, such as safety glasses, underneath the visor to protect against fine dust or liquid splashes that might penetrate the mesh.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the integrity of your safety equipment is paramount for continued protection. We recommend cleaning the browguard and mesh visor regularly using a mild detergent and a soft brush to remove dirt and grit. Avoid using aggressive chemical cleaners or solvents, as these can cause the polypropylene components to become brittle, significantly reducing their impact resistance.
Before every use, inspect the galvanised mesh for any signs of dents or broken wires. If the mesh is compromised, it should be replaced immediately with a PW94 visor to ensure the level of protection remains compliant with EN 1731 standards. Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as prolonged UV exposure can degrade the nylon and plastic parts over time.
