Product Overview

The Bizweld Work FR Jacket is a precision-engineered garment designed to provide consistent flame-resistant protection for professionals operating in high-risk environments. Constructed from a substantial 100% cotton fabric, this jacket is tailored to offer a balance between safety and all-day comfort. Its design focuses on functional utility, ensuring that the wearer is protected from heat and sparks without compromising on the practical requirements of a busy workshop or industrial site.

Key Features

  • Secure Stud Fasteners: The front of the jacket features robust stud fasteners, allowing for quick and easy closure while ensuring the garment remains securely fastened throughout the working day.
  • Dual Chest Pockets with Flaps: These pockets provide secure storage for essential tools or documents, with the protective flaps preventing ingress from debris or sparks.
  • Concealed Mobile Phone Pocket: A dedicated internal pocket ensures your communication devices are kept safe and shielded from the external working environment.
  • Flame Resistant Fabric: The inherent properties of the Bizweld material provide a reliable barrier against heat, making it an essential component of a safety-first uniform.

Design & Performance

This jacket is manufactured using a heavy-weight 100% cotton fabric known as Bizweld. This material is chosen specifically for its durability and its ability to withstand the rigours of industrial work. The substantial nature of the fabric offers a high degree of protection, yet the natural cotton fibres ensure breathability, which is vital for maintaining thermal comfort during long shifts. The performance of the garment is further enhanced by its structured fit, which allows for a full range of movement required for technical manual tasks.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Bizweld Work FR Jacket is well-suited for both print and embroidery, allowing companies to maintain a cohesive brand identity. Embroidery is the recommended choice for a superior, professional appearance, particularly for company logos or staff names on the chest area. For larger, high-impact branding on the rear of the jacket, our high-quality printing services offer a clear and durable finish. All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team at our Telford facility, drawing on decades of experience dating back to 1976.

Use Cases

This jacket is specifically designed for tradespeople and industrial workers in sectors such as welding, metal fabrication, and engineering. It is an ideal choice for anyone requiring a reliable flame-resistant outer layer that can withstand the daily demands of a heavy-duty work environment while maintaining a professional appearance.

Practical Advice

As this is a heavy-weight protective garment, we recommend considering your layering requirements. If you intend to wear a thick sweatshirt or multiple layers beneath the jacket for warmth, you may find a slightly larger size provides a more comfortable fit without restricting your range of motion during manual work.

Caring for your product

To ensure the longevity and continued performance of the flame-resistant properties, it is essential to follow the recommended care instructions. We advise a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures or using aggressive cycles can lead to premature fabric degradation and may affect the garment's protective qualities.

Do not use bleach when laundering this jacket. Bleach is a harsh chemical that can break down the cotton fibres and compromise the integrity of the flame-resistant treatment, leaving the wearer at risk.

The jacket should be line dried rather than tumble dried. High heat from a tumble dryer can cause the 100% cotton fabric to shrink, which will alter the fit and potentially expose the wearer's wrists or midriff during work. Line drying ensures the garment retains its shape and size.

If ironing is required to maintain a professional appearance, use a maximum iron temperature of 150°C. Excessive heat from an iron can damage the technical finish of the fabric. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemical solvents used in the process can interfere with the flame-resistant properties of the Bizweld material.
