Product Overview

The PW3 Modaflame Work Hi-Vis Multi-Norm FR Women's Trousers represent a significant advancement in protective workwear, specifically engineered to meet the ergonomic requirements of female professionals. These trousers are not merely a downsized version of a male garment; they have been meticulously tailored around the waist and hips to ensure maximum comfort during extended shifts. Constructed from high-performing two-way stretch fabric, they provide an exceptional range of movement, which is essential for safety and efficiency in demanding industrial environments. The inclusion of multi-norm protection ensures that the wearer is shielded against a variety of workplace hazards while maintaining high visibility.

Key Features

  • Inherently Flame Resistant Fabric: The Modaflame technology ensures that the flame-resistant properties are permanent and will not diminish with repeated laundering, providing reliable protection for the life of the garment.
  • Two-Way Stretch Material: This specialised fabric allows for greater flexibility and ease of movement, reducing restriction when bending or reaching.
  • Top-Loading Knee Pad Pockets: Designed for easy access and secure placement of knee pads, protecting the wearer during tasks that require kneeling.
  • Multi-Way Thigh Pocket: Provides secure and organised storage for essential tools, keys, and mobile devices, keeping them within reach at all times.
  • FR Reinforcement Panels: Applied at key abrasion points, these panels significantly enhance the durability and lifespan of the trousers in high-wear areas.
  • Women's Specific Fit: Tailored to the average female height and leg length, this design reduces the risk of tripping or snagging on equipment.

Design & Performance

The performance of these trousers is rooted in the sophisticated composition of the Modaflame Work fabric. By blending 60% Modacrylic with 39% Cotton and 1% Carbon Fibre, the garment achieves a balance of natural breathability and high-tech protection. The carbon fibre provides essential anti-static properties, which is critical in multi-norm environments. The medium-weight fabric is substantial enough to offer protection while remaining comfortable for all-day wear. The addition of the Modaflame Work Stretch contrast fabric—incorporating Elastane—ensures that the garment moves with the body rather than resisting it, a vital feature for those working in confined or active spaces.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

To maintain a professional corporate identity, these trousers can be customised with your company branding. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated, long-lasting finish that withstands the rigours of industrial laundering. For larger, more prominent branding, heat-applied print options are also available. Our in-house customisation team, based at our Telford headquarters since 1976, ensures that every application is handled with precision to maintain the integrity of the flame-resistant fabric.

Use Cases

These trousers are specifically designed for women working in sectors that demand multi-norm protection, such as petrochemicals, utilities, and heavy engineering. They are ideal for environments where high visibility is mandatory and where there is a risk of exposure to heat, flames, or static electricity. The tailored fit makes them particularly suitable for professionals who require both high-level protection and a garment that accommodates a female silhouette without compromising on safety features.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, please note that these trousers are designed specifically for the average female height and leg length to minimise the need for alterations which could compromise the FR properties. For those working in colder environments, we recommend layering with flame-resistant base layers to maintain thermal comfort without losing the protection of the multi-norm outer shell.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance standards of these multi-norm trousers, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Proper maintenance ensures that both the flame resistance and the high-visibility elements remain effective for the duration of the garment's life.

We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a normal process. Washing at this temperature helps to effectively remove industrial oils and contaminants without damaging the modacrylic fibres. Avoid the use of bleach, as chlorine can degrade the inherent flame-resistant properties and cause significant fading to the high-visibility yellow fabric.

For drying, use a low tumble dry setting. High heat during drying can lead to excessive shrinkage and may damage the elastane components that provide the garment's stretch. When ironing, ensure the temperature does not exceed 150°C to prevent any thermal damage to the synthetic fibres. Finally, do not dry clean these trousers, as the chemicals used in the process can interfere with the protective finishes of the fabric.
